The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Oblivion/Morrowind on mobile device?
Could either of these games potentially run on a modern mobile/tablet device? I can imagine Morrowind would, but Oblivion would almost certainly be too heavy?

Totally unrelated but

On a serious note, I assume it'd depend on the mobile device.

Oblivion was originally meant to have a smaller release on PSP so yes, it could.

Would be nice to see if that could be attempted.

The Elder Scrolls Travels is an uncompleted abandoned sand box game with literally only 10 minutes of buggy / crash to desktop gameplay.

Literal trash, it may have "Oblivion" in the name but it is nothing like TES Oblivion.

ATM mobile devices have 2++ gb RAM and multicore 1ghz++ processors.

you perfectly can run morrowind on such devices, issue is windows bound and x86 nature of morrowind.

you can't run x86 on ARM directly and can't run windows application on linux directly.

i don't think that it's about specs at all. why would i want to play on any mobile device at my place?

and i would never waste my time playing engaging and complex game in public. unless that engaging and complex game is not engaging and complex at all...

Yep, and apperently it works reasonably well. Don't expect Oblivion for a while though.

Exactly.

Morrowind System requirements:
Processor: 500 MHz.
Memory: 256 MB.
Graphics: 32 MB Direct3D Compatible video card and DirectX 8.1.

Oblivion System requirements:
Processor: 2 Ghz
Memory: 512 MB.
Graphics: 128 MB Direct3D compatible video card and DirectX 9.0.

Atm I've been playing Morrowind on my Galaxy S9+ at 60+ FPS with everything maxed but with water detail on low as water detail tanks the FPS.

The screen is cluttered, and the controls seem clunky but it works. Maybe the icons can be made smaller or an option to control the level of icon transparency... or both?

Yup you can resize the icons, move the icons, make them more transparent, and remove them.
You can also increase and decrease the GUI to make text more readable, the resolution is adaptive and will fill the entire screen of the phone.
And it has full gamepad support and allows you to change the gamepad controls in the in game option menu, if you want you can also hook up a mouse and keyboard to your phone.

OpenMW also supports mods however you have to edit a file to add each mod.

Aside from that the game is fully playable from start to finish, however work is still being done on OpenMW.
