i'm not sure which solution fixed this issue, but you can try:
1- install a 32-bit audio codec (i recommend CCCP,)
2- install directx redist, which for some strange reason is not bundled with the Steam version of this game. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
i mean, if your issue is that Morrowind wont get past the "home" screen due to a crash and complaint about not being able to play mp3 files, then you need a 32-bit mp3 codec, its that simple.
ottherwise just post the exat error you are receiving and we'll look further into it
"Music Error: Can not play file Data Files/Music/Special/morrowind title.mp3"
I've installed both programs, and I still get that error message when starting morrowind. I've also tried the K-lite Codec program, reinstalling Morrowind, and multiple times I've tried verifying the game files.
EDIT: Nevermind, I realized that I didn't extract the DirectX files into Morrowind's folder correctly, It works just fine now. Thank you very much!
Sorry, but could you explain how to extract those files correctly? Because either me did the same mistake or it didn't help for me.
