MGSO Widescreen help
Hello i am playing Morrowind for the first time. I installed MSGO mod latest version and everything went smooth. It contained the code patch and all the essentials. Everything seems to work as intended including the specific settings i customised except for resolution.

In the mod settings i have max resolution selected (which requires windowed mode) but in game i believe i am getting 1600x1200 and has thick borders on each side.

I have done some research into the problem with no luck. I have steam overlay disabled and have tried running the game as admin through my start menu.

Im not really sure why its not working and if anyone could help id appreciate it. I am very eager to start my journey and want to sort things like this out first.

in the MGSO menu is there a windows mode option?
As everyone else recommends, use the Morrowind portion of the S.T.E.P. Wiki instead of MGSO.

Not everyone recommends STEP instead of MGSO. I just checked.

Yes it said that higher resolutions require windows mode and it is checked in mgso settings. There is no option in game for windows mode tho.

Ok i figured it out. I had to change the screen width and height in regedit.exe under both Local machine and Current user while running as admin.

Paths for other people in case they have same issue. Windows 7 1920x1200:

Start- search for regedit.exe and run as admin

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Node/Bethesda Softworks/Morrowind:
Change screen width and height to desire.
+++++
(This is the step i missed and why it would work) ALSO EDIT:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Classes/VirtualStore/MACHINE/SOFTWARE/wow6432Node/Bethesda Softworks/Morrowind:
Change the same setting of screen width and height here under that exact path.

MAKE sure you run regedit as admin. Dont touch settings in game and leave options on full screen and i now have 1920x1200 res without windowed mode and no borders. Which is exactly what i wanted.

I hope this helps someone else it took me some digging to figure this out.
