Health bars?

I haven't played morrowind for about 15 yeas, and had apparently forgotten, that enemies don't have healthbars.
Is this really how the game is? I have no way of knowing how much impact my attacks do, since trhere is no visible damage on the npc.
I have tried to do search on this topic, but there is very little about it, so I'm starting to think it is me missing something?

They never had health bars. There's no way to tell.
Install MSGO, there's an option in it to display enemy health bars.

Enemies in the Unpatched Original Game did not have Health Bars. But if you patch the game they certainly do...

Yes, I found out now. It is the yellow bar over my own health bar. So used to red health bars over the enemies head that I thought the yellow one was something else. A stun indicator or something. At the time I made the post, I had only been fighting scribs :-)

Morrowind has health bars. You just cant see them unless you are in combat. Its the yellow bar over your health bar. You can see the paralyze icon at the bottom right. You cant see any time though, but it begins to fade out when its almost done
