Promotion {In the Imperial Cult } or any others for that matter
G'day

So say I've joined the Imperial cult, or any other group for that matter
I do a few jobs for them, go up a level, and now I want promoting IN THAT Group

So Smooth so far

I look up whats required
My personality and will power Both need to be mmore that 30, (62 and 37 respect)
and anothter bunch of skills need to be above 10 for 1 and 5 for two more
So no problem, Cunjoration is 10, Restoration a whopping 37, enchant 15.... so Tick cover that

Now HOW do I get promoted, cause so far I have been to 2 different locations for this group. And NO ONE is mentioning promotion

Ive looked at the Wiki, and it doesnt say anywhere That you have to ask someone specifically
Even though I assume its the senior bod at each location.
But what gives.
Why can't I sseem to trigger the "Lets promote him Dialogue

And this goes for the other groups I have joined (Just using this as an example)

I want to advance. I do the tasks/Quests and I would like to be acknowledged for it

Anyone give me a clue please

Thats so much in advance

Ps Looked up "Promotion" and other linked things here
But failed to find an answer, so I do apologise if this has been asked and answered before
I just did not see anything that came close to answering my question

usually the quest givers have an "Advancement" dialogue option that will either raise your rank within the faction or say you have not yet done enough errants or does not meet the requirements for the next rank.

Join faction.
Complete quests.
Raise skills to required levels.
Ask current quest given for "advancement".
Get promoted to the next rank, unlock more quests.

Each one of the first three quest-givers will give you the option, once you meet the requirements. If the option doesn't appear within the dialogue for that quest-giver, check the dialogue options to the right. The topic "Advancement" will usually appear near the top of the list, as they appear in alphebetical order.

Only certain npcs in a faction will promote you, they're typically the main quest givers (usually it's the npc that you needed to see to join the guild)

The dialogue option is usually "advancement" though I believe there is a faction (may be imperial cult) that has the option of "promotion".

You should be able to ask it to the npc as soon as you join, whenever you want. They'll either advance you, or tell you that you need to do more quests or don't meet skill requirements, or both. Some people will lose disposition if you ask for advancement and don't meet the requirements.

Ok so firstly thank you each and all for the answers
Very much appreciated

Just checking if I get this right
So even though their might be say 5 or six outposted for a certain faction around
IT'S ONLY the firts quest giver that offers the promotion/advancement.
You can't do a quest or two, wander from one place to another and get advancement
You have to head back to the ORIGINAL place ?
Is that right ?
meheezen Nov 15, 2018 @ 2:53pm
No, the one that has a option to "join faction" and the quest givers within that faction can advance/promote you.

The quest giver will eventually run dry of quests and say to talk to someone else some other place for more quests. And then that person becomes your new boss to get quests from and ask for advancement.

No quite. Once you join a faction, the leader of any branch of that faction can promote you, as long as you've done enough quests and meet the skill and attribute requirements. You simply need to ask. The Imperial Cult is the one exception to this, as all of its leaders hang out in the Imperial Chapel in Ebonheart. It's a similar thing for quests: I've had quests running simultaneously for all three of the Imperial Cult's first three quest-givers, and I would hand in those quests only after completing all of them.

Again to all of you thank you all for your responses

Sounds like I may need to just change location, and maybe finish a few more of the quests
But mainly go and find the right one to promote :-)

Again thanks

It sounds like you got it slightly wrong, and when I explained it earlier, I also made a mistake. You can only turn in a particular quest to the quest-giver who sent you on it, but promotion can be sought from ANY of the branch leaders. Take the Imperial Cult, for example. If the shrine sergeant sends you on a quest, that quest can only be turned in to him. But a promotion in the cult can be sought from any of the quest-givers there, as long as you meet the requirements.

Sorry, I had misunderstood/confused.
Still I haven't found anyone offereing the promotion (even though I seem to have more than enough in the skill set required) for promotion.
Ill still keep hunting and go from there

First, you may be looking for the wrong conversation topic. If you're playing in English, for most factions it's not "promotion". It's "advancement".

Next, did you solve any quests for the Imperial Cult? There are only four quest-givers, they are all in the same building, and IIRC any of them can promote you. Synnolian Tunifus, Iulus Truptor, Kaye, and Lalatia Varian. They are in Ebonheart, in the Imperial Chapels building.

In general, talk to any member of the faction, ask them about "advancement" topic if they have it. They'll tell you who can advance you.

The Morag tong is also an exception that you can get any writ assassination mission from any quest giver in any hall, and turn the completed mission to any leader in any hall, but can only get advancement and special quests from the leader himself.

There's some variations in factions, and I know imperial cult is like the Morag tong in that it's just a little different from other factions.

I seem to remember that you can only get advancement in the imperial cult from ebonheart from the quest givers there.

Boy..........
Thanks so much for all of the answers (Still)

I think the last few responses may be the key.
I had assumed that "At Each Site of a given faction" you'd be able to promote.
But I now know thanks to you all that its only One (or maybe) 2 places depending

I just wasnt at one of those places (Yet :steamhappy:)

So will be again soon

Thanks
