How can I change the resolution to 1920x1080?
I tried using regedit, but it didn't work, it just puts the settings back everytime I play the game

The Morrowind Code Patch enables widescreen resolutions. I use it and can play MW through Steam.

Code Patch or Overhaul? As mentioned, only MCP[www.nexusmods.com] is required for widescreen. It's also very highly recommended for all the bugfixes. If you're getting a "MSCVR100.dll" error then read the introductory section of the linked mod page for details on how to fix.

Only MCP and I am not getting the dll error

I manually installed the below mods (showing their version info) and have not had any problems. The game is displayed in 1920x1080, however the ingame resolution selection does not show it in the list. When I run the MGSO utility option, it shows its set at 1920x1080

2. Better Dialogue Font-36873
3. MGSO_3-0_Final

There were literally few answers already considering your needs. Everyone can install both MGE XE and MCP, along with hundreds of other modifications, you can't.

Maybe double-check that you've extracted the MCP installer to your "top-level" Morrowind folder (right-click MW in your Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files) as described in the readme. Also try launching it as an administrator. Otherwise I'm out of ideas.

It is in Morrowind folder and is automatically launching as administrator
