MGSO vs. Morrowind Rebirth for first time playthrough?

Hi all. I'm going to play this game (my first ES game) for the first time and want to find a good mod that doesn't change the gameplay too much (except fixing annoyingbugs) and also improves the graphics. I was initially going to go with MGSO but apparently it has a bunch of issues? And Morrowind Rebirth seems nice but it looks like it alters the gameplay way too much for a first time playthrough. Having said that which one is better for first playthrough?

If you wanna play morrowind with very unimmersive textures (in terms of consistency with each other) with anime style dark elves with sparkly blue eyes that makes the game look nothing like the developers intended, then get mgso.

Yeah, get whatever you like OP. Or you can just use vanilla Morrowind, and have terrible 2002 graphics like the developers intended.

I don’t think that the graphics are that bad in morrowind I know that it’s not pretty but I could give two dips about what graphics look like unless it’s one of those really pixelated games that hurt my eyes at least it was a improvement from Arena and daggerfall

I'm glad there are other people here though who can agree why MGSO is absolutely terrible. So uh, case closed lads.

I've tried out the various mods including MGE XE and Rebirth but imo the game doesn't look as good as it does with MGSO. So I think I'll stick with MGSO and update it with one of the guides available. Thanks guys.

MGSO looks awful, deters from the artstyle of the vanilla game and is incredibly inconsistent and depedent on ugly textures.
