Migrate Morrowind from Xbox to PC
I tried doing a search and couldn't find anything. Sorry in advance if this is a rehashed topic; not my intent.

I have the GOTY edition on my Xbox. To be specific I am using the Xbox emulator on my 360.

I can accept the fact that there are bugs; multi-save and hope for the best.

I can accept the older graphics; after playing Senua's Sacrifice I will never enjoy another game's gfx ever again.

But was/is particularly frustrating is the way Morrowind went about remembering things; huge save files just because you walked and explored or because you didn't shut every door you opened or dumped crap equipment in dead bodies before they vanished. Talking to a couple of NPCs on my way to Mournhold jumped my save file by 30-40 blocks.

Even without mods I've heard this game is a little more stable on PC. Would I be correct in assuming they have changed the way Morrowind remembers all those little interactions with the world? Or does it just utilized PC hardware better? I'm asking, mostly, about vanilla Morrowind.

In addition (and more importantly) I am wondering if it is possible to migrate my current saves from Xbox to PC if I were to buy this. It is my understanding the original Xbox was built with off-the-shelf hardware and thus games were written more PC friendly; I don't know the technology enough to discern. I travel for work and would love to have an unlimited game to play...that I don't have to start over from scratch. My laptop doesn't have an optic-drive and I refuse to dongle that crap and make all my travel even clunkier; not an option.

Thanks all. Again, hopefully I'm not rehashing dead topics. If so can you link?

Any potato PC will run morrowind.
You can't convert an Xbox save file to be used with the PC version.

That's what I feared. I've been surprised with tech in the past but no such luck apparently. Thanks!

In your experience is there a need to keep save file sizes down like on the Xbox version? I'll keep multiple saves anyway but am curious for best house keeping purposes.

That's probably why the Xbox version took like 5+ minutes to load a game. Always dreaded reloading on the Xbox.

Probably just a flaw in the Xbox operating system or something.
