Where is the mod load order stored?
What filename and is it enough to copy that file along with the mods?

Mod loading order is stored at the end of Morrowind.ini, which is located in the game's main folder. Morrowind.ini also contains a lot of other data used by the game, some mods may alter these.

Just copying the file may work fine, but some of the things in it may cause the game to not work properly on a different system.

"Mod loading order is stored at the end of Morrowind.ini"

No, it's not, actually. That's just a list of active esm and esp files. If you manually resort and renumber, the game changes it back.

I would also recommend using Mlox, Wrye Mash and Morrowind enchanted editor to sort your load order to avoid conflicts and help the game run smoother. Nexusmods should have the downloads.

But WHERE is the load order data stored?

I will not use a Mod Mangler, but I used Wrye Mash to order the plugins, but where is the file that the game uses for load order?

No one seems to know, and it's driving me nuts.

Cheers!

It seems it's not stored anywhere, the game uses Date Modified to determine load order for esm and esp files.

That's nuts!

Yeah back in the day you had to sort mods by date of the mod, there were no launchers

Yes, I used Wryemash or something. It re-dates things!

I also cannot find any COBJ files in the Construction Set for Morrowind. So making new crafting recipes will be much more difficult. They all seem to work off scripts!

Cheers!

However I don't remember any mods from back in the day or newer ones that had to be loaded in any particular order, never had to re-date anything except for master files screwed by Steam
