The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Game crashes when in Indarys Manor
Whenever I enter the main bedroom in Indarys Manor, the game usually crashes within a few seconds. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

What does your warnings.txt say
Sound Error: Can not play file. \\SDF-2\BETHESDA\Projects\MOROWIND\Morrowind\Data Files\Sound\Vo\r\m\\\SDF-2\BETHESDA\Projects\MOROWIND\Morrowind\Data Files\Sound\Vo\r\m\Atk_RM012.mp3
delete your data/sound folder and then do a verify integrity
Any other solutions? Deleting these seemed to help a little but it still crashes constantly, including twice in under 5 minutes in an ancestral tomb
Any other warning.txt messages? Any mods?

These showed up in warnings
Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\Tx_ashlands_08.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.

Don't have any mods.
Seems all your errors are in the data files. Try deleting the whole data folder and do verify integrity check.

Are you using steam overlay or cloud synch? Might try turning those off. If all else fails you may need a clean reinstall followed by a reboot.

Thanks for your help, I'm still getting some crashes but I can at least spend more than 30 seconds in Indarys manor without a crash.
Looks like you might be on really bad Wifi or something, and when DL'ing the files something gets corrupted or fragmented. If you're on wifi while downloading the game files, try a hard connection if possible. There's supposed to be protections built into modern wifi receivers, routers and other hardware, that create redundancy to stop this kind of thing, but certain high-performance settings or poor quality hardware can still compromise data integrity.
