viatrix "the annoying pilgrim" A.I. bug
I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I escorted her to the ghostgate, we are inside the ghostfence and I see the shrine but her A.I. is stuck and she can't seem to climb up the hill and she just runs around in circles down below. I've been trying to get her to follow me up there and she just keeps running in circles and then complaining that I'm taking too long to bring her there.

is this a known bug with the A.I.?

I've been searching the net and can't find a fix, even on the elder scrolls wiki, there's no mention of this bug, it just says "lead her there and you get a tip of 100 gold from her"

check wiki for useful a.i. commands.

in morrowind a.i. works more... "mechanically" than in later tes games, sometimes their paths mess up like this.

and "togglecollisiongrid" can makes things clearer sometimes.

Another, often less-messy way to deal with this is to increase her athletics skill; although of course it's using console commands, and thus a slippery slope, it's usually safe and not too game-breaking to increase the athletics of any NPC that follows you by 100-200. In fact, I'm fairly sure there's a mod out there that does exactly this, though I couldn't name it offhand. It's mentioned on the wiki, iirc; it doesn't address this problem in the specific quest entry for this NPC, but there is an entry describing the problem.
