Best Stealth Archer Set-Up
I have played a lot of skyrim but am not afraid of something hard. I am new to this game and wanted to make a decent stealth archer for my first playthrough. I chose a female Khajiit and am in the detailed skill menu where you choose everything yourself.

Well I have never really played as just an archer as I tend to play a jack of all trades type character, but I'll try to give you a few tips that may be helpful.

Khajiit don't really get many good racial bonuses to work with so you may struggle with accuracy early on, but it shouldn't be too bad if you use some of these suggestions.

Just remember that Agility adds some weapon accuracy, while Willpower adds some magical accuracy if you decide to cast spells for any reason.

You might want to choose Agility as one of your preferred attributes to help improve your starting accuracy and stealth skills a little. Then choose what you want for the second attribute.

The Warrior Birthsign adds 10 accuracy if you don't want to miss as much. The Lover is also a good alternative as it adds +25 Agility, which is about 5 accuracy and will also help your stealth skills and ability to dodge attacks.

You obviously want Marksman as a major skill or else you will not be very accurate with it.

You should also take a second weapon as a major skill, so you have a melee weapon to fall back on and so you have accuracy with it. Since you are an archer I suggest using Short Blade. Long Blade is a good choice too. Khajiit does receive a small +5 racial bonus to short blade.

If you use short blade, I suggest buying a Demon Tanto in Balmora from the Trader Ra'Virr. The Tanto is inexpensive and comes with a Bound Dagger enchantment that lets you conjure a Bound Dagger for 60 seconds. All Bound weapons have an accuracy bonus, so having a Bound Dagger as a backup weapon with bonus accuracy will be useful.

There are a few items in the game that you should try to get as soon as possible.

Shortbow of Sanguine Sureflight.

You can buy it for cheap in Tel Aruhn living quarters, but it needs to be repaired initially, that is why it is so cheap. It has Fortify Marksman 7 pts for 30 seconds. It is a useful accuracy bonus until you increase your marksman skill.

Ring of Raven Eye.

It can be found in a hollow tree stump at Thirsk Mead Hall along with several other good items. It has a constant effect of Fortify Marksman for 20 pts and also adds night eye to help see in the dark. It's a great ring for archers.

It can be difficult getting the ring at low levels since Bloodmoon enemies are tough early on. I suggest obtaining the Boots of Blinding Speed asap, then you can outrun everything in Solstheim to get the ring.

Having the Boots of Blinding Speed makes travelling or exploring alot easier and they can be obtained from an easy quest on the road just outside Caldera.

You will also need a resist magicka item to prevent the blindness. Magickguard Robe is a good choice to use with the boots. It can be purchased at the same place as the Shortbow of Sanguine Sureflight. If you stack enough resist magicka, you can remove all of the blindness.

Ring of the Wind.

It can be obtained in Nammu. It has a constant effect of Agility +30 for around 6 accuracy and it also helps boost your stealth skills and evasion. The enemies in Nammu are difficult at lower levels, but it is possible to kill them if you are very careful.

You can also get more accuracy buying a Blessing of Vivecs Fury in Vivec or Ghostgate. You get Attack +5 for 48 minutes. Obtaining Vivecs Fury is one of the first things I do, to help improve my accuracy.

This turned out to be longer than expected. I hope it helps.
