The Thieves Guild Fighters Guild conflict.
Probably one of the most headache inducing conflicts to bypass if one wanted to do both questlines. Especially if the character one creates favors combat over stealth and mercantile. I myself have yet to bypass this setback, I made two saves, one further back just incase I decide not to pursue the Thieves Guild, something I did in my Xbox days. I've started this thread to hear how many of you have bypassed the problem and how you did it. I'm curious.

iirc you can't "bypass" it by normal means since you have to pick one or the other.

There is a way that I know of but it requires joining the thieves guild and the Bittercup quest. If done correctly one may completely bypass the Code Book Quest. Although in my current playthrough I think I messed that up.
You just have to join Fighter's Guild, get the Code Book Quest from Eydis, convince Sottilde to give the book to you, THEN join the Thieves Guild (while the book is in your inventory still), THEN turn the book into the Fighter's Guild. In that order.

In other words, don't join the Thieves Guild until you have the code book in your inventory, which you can get by persuading Sottilde with gold or whatever until she has I think 80 points in disposition, then mention the book and she'll just give it to you and tell you not to say anything. Once you have the book in your inventory, just walk over and talk to Sugar Lips and join the Thieves Guild, then leave and give the book to Eydis Fire-Eye. Quest complete, no conflict with Thieves, you're now a member of both guilds, business as usual.

Alternatively: (first four bullets in any order, including at the same time)

Only do three quests for Eydis Fire-Eye. Stop taking quests from her before getting the Code Book Quest, or if you accidently get it, ignore it and don't do it.

Only do three quests for Lorbumol gro-Aglkh in Vives. (And let the Argonian run away for the second quest.) You can talk to Percius Mercius in Ald'ruhn if you need help determining which to do. If you accepted the Lirielle's debt quest, either don't do it or pay it out of your own pocket.

Do all of Hruni's quests in Wolverine Hall and do the first four quests for Percius Mercius' quests in Ald'ruhn. Do not do any quests for Sjoring-Hard Heart.

Complete the main quest, including the sleeper quest. Complete most of the other quest lines, but not Thieves Guild.

Once you've done all of that, you should now have enough reputation points to get the final two fighter's guild quests from Percius in Ald-Rhun. Those quests will make you the leader of the fighters, without doing any quests that cause problems with the Thieves Guild.

FYI, I have completed most of the above steps, but haven't performed the last two quests to become the leader of the Fighter's Guild and I haven't joined the Thieve's Guild yet. (Percius gave me the first of the last two quests, but I'm ignoring it for now.) But I'm pretty sure this works.

I plan to complete the DLC quests (working on them now), then join the Thieves Guild and complete their quests. The last quest for the Fighter's Guild and the last quest for the Thieves Guild are the same, so I plan to do then together and get credit for both.
