Truth be told the money saved from picking Armorer is not a lot compared to the money needed to do enchanting with enchanter vendors. Armorer is more of a convenience as it reduces the need to visit civilization that often.
Shields have the highest enchantment potential in the game so you might as well invest into blocking if you're gonna be wielding one. It'll probably be a Daedric Tower Shield though, even though your Heavy Armor skill will be low.
Pretty cool actually. You no longer have to carry a repair hammer. I haven't experimented to see if the new spells are something you can enchant with.
Not to be confused with a mod for a Bound Hammer, which is a Bound weapon.
Just an option to consider.
I always do my own repair for any PC I make. I also use it to increase my strength bonus for level up. Balmora has quite a few weapons that need repair and you can raise your skill fairly quickly. And if you join the fighters guild, repair Hammers are free in the chests.
I join the Mages guild and use the guild guides to go to all the guilds and clean out the chests in both the Mages guild and the fighters guild. Useful items, lots of potions, can sell them, and the earlier you clean them out, the longer they have to restock.
