How do I unequip a lantern using hotkeys?

In Oblivion, I could take out and put away my torch with a single key, but it doesn't seem like I can do that in Morrowind, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Check if this works, press F1 and choose what object, magic or skill you want to set on the keys 1 to 9.

I already know how to set hotkeys (I set #1 for my torch), but I don't know how use hotkeys to put AWAY the torch (if its even possible). Thanks anyway

When you Press F1, you can click over the key and choose to delete the asignment. To put it away, I usually just choose another hotkey. Not sure if it's what you want.
F works for me with torches, I put them away like they were weapons.
