How to use Nexus Mod Manager with Morrowind
I recently purchased Morrowind and wanted to get some mods for it, so I downloaded a bunch through the Nexus Mod Manager. Everything seems fine, I installed them and activated them like I would in any other game, except when I ran the game, none of them were on. Am I doing something wrong or is Morrowind's age getting in the way?

Don't. Manual installation is recommended, just make sure you get MLOX.

Short version: just like Lillie said - manual installation is recommended

Long version: chances are pretty high most of your Morrowind mods do not follow standard mod file structure. If you read the readme file from your mods you'll see they almost always recommend manual installation. Nexus mod is not a thing when Morrowind was out so the mods don't play nicely w/ NMM.

Ahh, that makes sense. Thanks. What's MLOX?

MLOX is a program that sorts automathically your mod list, reorder it, warns about mod conficts, etc, because some mods must be loaded before. There are other tools to modding safely as TesTool (for mod cleaning), and Wrye mash (a mod and savegame manager and repair).

A good tutorial for newbies, see the full video (recommended) or go to the section that you prefer (the index with the links is in the first seconds of the video):
