The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Beast races can't wear helmets or boots?
I'm fairly new to Morrowind, but my favorite races to play in ES games are the argonian and khajiit. Right now, I'm playing as a khajiit, and the inability to wear helmets or boots, is just... really s***ty. I knew they were unable to before I chose khajiit anyway, but I underestimated how much it would suck. Being unable to wear two very important armor pieces seems like a major handicap. I honestly can't see why anyone would pick either of the beast races considering this. But I'm a Morrowind noob, so I may be missing something. Is there a balancing factor for khajiits and argonians that makes it worth it in the end? Like, are their racial abilities really good or something? I'm debating starting another file or maybe modding it so I can wear helmets and boots anyway.

There are mods that let the beast races wear special boots and helmets.

Sometimes you just gotta make do without. Or sue. Sometimes you can sue. But mostly you just gotta make do without.

You're really overblowing just how much you need those boots and helmet.

If you're getting killed extremely quickly, it's much more likely you've found an enemy who is much higher level than you, so the combination of your low HP and their high Accuracy means they can kill you thrice over in a couple seconds. That tiny bit of extra AR from Boots and Helm isn't going to help in that situation.

The boots is a huge quality of life boost. OP if I'm you I would just mod the game for it. There's absolutely zero reason not to do so, especially if you are playing the series backward from Skyrim/Oblivion. Even Bethesda realize this and changed the mechanics for later games.

It makes sence, why would a cat or lizard head be able to equip the same helmet or boots when their feet and head are completley shaped differently than elves and humans? Oblivion and Skyrim messed it up.

As an actual cat wearing an actual hat I find this offensive.

Actually, it was Morrowind that "messed it up".

Arena and Daggerfall Argonians could wear boots and helmets regardless, too.

(The Khajiit being a different subspecies of Khajiit are a different story)

If I remember correctly, then you can wear open helmets as an aragonian (and probbly as a Kahjitt as well)

yeah. As a beast race it was only possible to wear open faced helmets.

Ja, you obviously haven't played (don't remember which it is) Bloodmoon or Tribunal. I think it's Bloodmoon, in which it's nearly impossible to go up a certain staircase without a special pair of boots. If you can't go up that staircase, you can't complete the add-on game. (It's been 14 years since I played Bloodmoon or Tribunal.)

Yeah, I *obviously* haven't played bloodmoon or tribunal because of a single situation that you can't recall the details of.

It's also been awhile since I've played the expansions, tribunal especially, but I checked the wiki and there are no unique boots in either expansion that are needed to complete a quest without unreasonable difficulty.

you can wear other armor that you can't normally in the other games. in addition to regular set of armor you can wear enchanted clothes.also there is much more underwater in this one so argonian waterbreathing comes in handy, and khagits i believe can jump higher and there is tons of stuff hidden above normal view.

Dude, just play unarmored and run around as a naked lizard.
Or jump in water as a khajiit and become a wet ♥♥♥♥♥.
The possibilities are unlimited >...<

Technically, by disallowing khajiit and argonians from wearing boots, possibilites are, by definition, not unlimited.
