I forget the name of the stronghold, it's the one directly west of Balmora.
Anyways, was a good time. Not sure if I used vampire realism in addition to embrace to give me the power to turn into a bat. But vampiric embrace is the best vampire mod I've ever seen in an rpg, really gives you the feel of being a vampire. Not even Dawnguard for Skyrim could come close to accomplishing what Embrace did.
For Skyrim, Better Vampires is an amazing mod that allows you to finely tune your vampire experience to what you want it to be - which means that if being a vampire to you means "You go from full to starving in one day flat, and everyone hates you when you're starving", you can do that. It also allows you to create a legion of loyal vampires that will not only go about their daily lives, but also follow you around. It does for Skyrim what Vampire Embrace + Realism do for Morrowind, IMHO.
There's also a mod for Skyrim that makes vampiric NPCs hunt down fresh blood when they're hungry, which was designed with mods that let you turn others in mind.
If I had to rank it...
Modded Skyrim Vampires >= Modded Morrowind Vampires > Vanilla Skyrim Vampires > Vanilla Morrowind Vampires > Vanilla Oblivion Vampires
(Despite vanilla Skyrim and Oblivion vamps being very similar and backwards, Vanilla Skyrim at least has Dawnguard going for it. And Morrowind vampires at least have a unique questline that isn't "cure vampirism". Oblivion is basically just a backwards vampire with nothing more to it.)
(Also modded Oblivion isn't in the list because I haven't quite found the Oblivion vampire mod I want to use. But that's not a discussion for this forum.)
Anyways, I just find the whole chosen one trope (Dovahkiin) to be something I've no interest in. In Morrowind you're called Nerevarine, but it's always in question whether you're legit. Even after a daedric prince acknowledges your status, is she just doing that to employ you as a champion, and is it a ruse/vision/deception such as those Azura is known for? So for that reason, I enjoy replaying Morrowind far more than I do Skyrim, because it seems less like you're playing the same exact character or story everytime.
Given the quality of skyrim vampire mods I know of, I'm reluctantly inclined to agree with your list. Although I put Morrowind in general above Skyrim, I can't deny the ingenuity of Skyrim modders.
Oblivion is so buggy, if you thought pcs/npcs could be ugly, just wait until one of them turns into a vamp. There's a fix for that, but damned if you can't unsee that wrinkly potato face.
I actually like Oblivion's potato-faced inhabitants. They're so charming and wacky looking.
I just find it interesting that my dunmer vampire in Morrowind spontaneously started wearing lipstick when I turned. Apparently, being a vampire makes you turn into a glam rocker.
I do like that Dragonborn threw a wrench into the prophecy by making it so that, hey, you're not the only Dovahkiin out there, and the other one is a right evil bastard. And of course, you can be a right evil bastard, too, yourself.
Of course, it's less that being Dovahkiin is being the "chosen one" and more like it's what you are. You're not handpicked by the gods to be the Dovahkiin, you're simply the right Dovahkiin in the right place at the most needed time.
In that sense, being the Nerevarine is a little more like being the chosen one (since there can only BE one Nerevarine, and Azura picked YOU), except that you've got a whole religious organization bent on denying your existence. (An organization you can actually join and be the leader of by the time this happens, too! One of the things I will give Morrowind due praise for.)
Where in Skyrim, you've got simultaneously too many people and not enough people prostrating before your magnifence, Oh Dragonborn.
So it's a mixed bag.
Anyway... yeah. Vampires in video games are better with mods. Has anyone tried Sacrosanct for Skyrim?
It's been so long since I played a vamp in Morrowind, maybe it's time I installed Vampire Embrace again and gave it a go.
namely in that, no matter how much I feed, I keep gradually starving to death.
Also I'm not sure the vampire level up timer is working correctly, but I feel like I've definitely played more than 4 hours of real time gameplay, but I don't know if I've "leveled up" as a vampire or not.
The only thing I can think of is that I intentionally left the game running for about an hour while cooking supper to try to "level up" my vampirism. But I've been feeding steadily ever since I got back. It's just... not enough.
I know I can simply turn the feature off, and at this rate, I may have to, if only temporary.
But it's odd how this is happening. It's like... really bad script lag? Or something?

"Vampire Embrace" over Moddrop. It adds a lot of new options, not only the turning thing.
Although I didn't tried myself, only searched it after reading this post (the OP mentions it).
Well, all good now. I've just finished working on my vampire mod (QCVL on nexusmods, here's the link https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49486). Creating 50 quests was quite exhausting. Gonna finally relax and play the game now. I can't wait to see OperatorJack's "Vampyr" mod ready. It's gonna be vastly superior to anything gameplay-wise (including my own mod(s)). I'm not advertising for the sake of glorifying myself or other modmakers. I simply want players to be able to finally get some quests and quality gameplay as vampire characters, something that I desperately wanted back then, when I was a kid discovering the game. Cheers. Merry X-mas everybody.
You are doing good work for us gamers, thank you very much.
You have a happy yule, yourself!
EDIT: nevemind, my bad - I just noticed that the link in your previous post is broken (has a closing parentheses at the end) - I found it through a google search.
