Easy? Well, let me see...

Race:
Endurance should be one of your favored attributes. Redguards, Orcs, and male Nords have the highest starting Endurance, as well, and you can't go wrong with any of these races for a melee build.
Remember that whether you pick Combat, Magic, or Stealth, not only does it increase the skills in these categeories by 5, but it also makes them increase quickly.

Lover adds +25 Agility, which is very handy for a melee build because agility determines how often you hit and get hit.
Atronach adds a large magicka multiplier, but you can't regain magicka by resting. However, it's a good sign even if you don't plan to use magic at all, as it will allow you to absorb hostile spells.
Lady adds a large amount of Endurance, too, so this is a good sign if you're trying to maximize your leaht gains

Pick a weapon skill you plan to use often (Most effective ones being Blunt or Long Blade, in my opinion) as a major
Pick an armor skill (Light Armor is a good one because you can get good light armor early into the game) as a major
Restoration and Alteration also major skills. Restoration helps you stay alive, Alteration lets you get into places without having to fiddle with a lockpick.
Are you going to be using a Shield? Then try to fit Block into a major skill. If not, the skill is useless to you.
Mysticism should be, at the very least, a minor skill. Be sure to pick up Mark and Recall from the Tribunal Temple in Balmora. Mark lets you pinpoint a spot, Recall will take you back to that spot.

Don't put Athletics, Acrobatics, Speech, or Mercantile as skills, major or minor.
Spear, Heavy Armor, and Medium Armor are skills that, when increased, allow you to increase your endurance more on level up. You don't want to take more than one of these into your major and minor skills.

---ALTERNATIVELY---

You can't go wrong with a Dunmer Nightblade preset. Nightblade is the best of the preset builds. Dunmer are a good race for Nightblades. Fire resistance is a good thing to have.

Thank you for the help im enjoying the game much more now! :steamhappy:
Wood Elf with Lover birthsign, Stealth specialization, Agility as a Favorite Attribute, and, of course, Marksman as a Major Skill. ;)

Gonna chime in again and say that I got inspired to try out the Dunmer Nightblade combo, which I realized I hadn't actually done yet despite recommending it.

I recommend it even more now. While this isn't exclusive to the Dunmer Nightblade, it's actually quite nice to sneak up on an enemy with Chameleon active (even 10% helps quite a bit!) and stab them in the back.

What makes it even better is that, even if the enemy detects you, the combined stealthiness can sometimes confuse them, and if they get too confused, they flee in fear.

Better sneak and better values of Chameleon should result in better effects.

Nightblade also has a nice slew of skills. Shortblade's a fairly decent melee weapon, but especially when enchanted - the faster attacks dish out the faster effects far more frequently. You will probably want to train a high damage weapon skill like Longblade, Blunt, or Axe if you plan to capitalize on sneak attacks though, because you get no special bonus for using a smaller weapon - it's a flat multiplier.

Destruction isn't just for ranged attacks, and with creative use, you can use it to give you an advantage on the battlefield. The most role-playing use for this would probably be along the lines of a slow-burning damage over time effect that you can use to steadily wear down an enemy during battle, especially poison elemental (beware, several enemies are resistant to poison). I would recommend using it to weaken your opponent, such as damaging their strength, agility, or fatigue so that they deal less damage and hit less often.

You could definitely use a bow with Marksman, but Morrowind is also the only game in the series with throwing weapons. One downside of bows is that they take more damage the more strength you have - throwing weapons have no such liability, being that they are spent as soon as you use them. While bows are unequivocally better, throwing weapons can be cooler.

The lack of Restoration is definitely a bummer - but joining the Fighter's Guild, even if you don't do any quests, nets you a nice supply of healing potions at every chapter of the guild throughout Morrowind. You can also brew your own if you decide to explore alchemy - which would definitely be worth it. Also worth noting that you almost never want alchemy to be a major or minor skill simply because it increases too fast.

I chose the Apprentice birth sign for mine, by the way. Unlike Oblivion and Skyrim, weakness to magicka means being weak to magicka-elemental effects - and these are few and far between. Unfortunately, this does include Paralysis, but by the time that's even a real issue, you'll most likely have ways to deal with it.

Make sure to have alteration magic even if youre a warrior. Even if just a minor skill. It IS worth it. It is very versatile and useful for any character IMO.

Alteration and Mysticism are the two most important spell schools in the game, honestly.

Without Mysticism's teleporting magic, the game becomes twice as monotonous.

Without Alteration's levitation magic and waterbreathing, there are some places you literally cannot go.

Illusion's Night Eye is also pretty important, especially if you have a mod that makes caves darker.
