The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Regarding Storage Space
Hi, I'm almost totally new to Morrowind. Looking for the best way to store items.. it's a bit of an issue that is unfamiliar to players of later TES games, but I am am aware that the player is rewarded a stronghold in Great House storylines.
So, for now, can I just kill someone and take their house, thereby using their chests as *safe* storage? I also know about the Hlallu manor corpse so I'll resort to that if the answer to my question is no. Thanks Nerevarines! Oh also can I use the "Council Hostel" rooms in Ald'ruhn's skar for permanent storage??

Caves, houses, random crates, Dwemer ruins, etc... all are safe for storage, just remember that each storage container will only hold a finite amount of items, not unlimited amounts like the later games.

Right at the beginning of the game, you can start a quest to avenge the death of a tax collector, which effectively gives you a free home in Seyda Neen to store stuff in.

Be advised: Chest and crate in random bandit caves should automatically reset every once in a while, effectively deleting all items you stored in them (I'm a bit shaky on this though - might be that this was only introduced in Oblivion).
Thanks so much for the help. I know there are people on this forum who have actual problems so I really appreciate it.
