The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Locks
Is there a better lock pick than the master lock pick? On any locks that are about lock level 30 or higher it says lock too complex.

How is it worthless?

Can you open level 100 locks with Alteration at level 1 without grinding Alteration or buying training?

You can open level 100 locks at level 1 with Security as a Major + the Glove Treachery, a Master Lockpick, and around 40 Agility. Lesser lockpicks require much more Agility.

You can then obtain the Cuirass of the Saviors Hide to resist 60% of the blindness from the Boots of Blinding Speed and 100% resistance with a few other easy to get items. That is far from being worthless to me.
You can do the same if you pick alteration as your major skill and do similar stat fortifying manouvers for willpower/intelligence. But that's not even what I meant.
Security ultimately becomes obsolete as the game progresses. It only does one thing and it's not even the best for doing that one thing. Any character can buy and use a 100 pts open on touch enchanted item. While, if you used alteration for it before you get to that point, you can still use the high skill level to cast a multitude of other spells with useful effects, like jump, levitate and water breathing. Security, on the other hand, offers nothing but opening locks and disabling traps, and I don't remember the last time I've been killed by a trap in morrowind, even on a low level character.
The only scenario in which i can imagine using security to be necessary is RP.

Go figure that a pyro main clown is also a power gamer. Doesn't like fun across ALL games he plays.

True, but you would've been better off using console commands.
I tend to avoid console commands unless necessary (or directly requested). Though in this case you may have a point. Boy, was I disappointed when I first got the Key. All that hype for just another piece of bent metal. x)

True, although i am sure there's mods that can add more them into the game. Or just to let you have it right off the bat.

where can i find a Skeleton Key?
.it's just a high-quality lockpick with limited uses.
The item comes with a hidden perk that makes it unbreakable. its also openw every door in the game

You are mixing it with Oblivion version of the skeleton key.

wait wait? so then whats the point of it if it breaks? the quest to get it in morrowind is kinda long ( unless you just kill him for it?) why would it just break? but i guess i could just use a 100 point unlock spell by the time i get the key

Yeah, that's why the devs fixed it in other game series. Instead of patching it to have nearly limitless. Although you could mod it to have it similulate to be nearly limitless.

i was exxpecting , when you said it breaks, to be like 100 or so times, but i guess they were thinking " why would they waste it on lvl 5 or so locks, they should carry all types and ues the right lock pick for the lock, not gonna shove a complex lockpick in a simple lock?"

Yeah, although i am guessing that might be the reason why. Although you could mod it to have nearly limitless of uses (on PC of course).

also find it funny, they have a 5 uses "bent probe" for traps that can't be bought, only found, this was a better reward then the skeleton key i think
