Official Plugins included in MGSO, Tamriel Rebuilt or Rebirth?
Hi,
I have recently discovered the official plugins from Bethesda while digging through my mod collection and wondered if they are included in one of these mods:

Morrowind Rebirth
MGSO
Tamriel Rebuilt

The reason i ask is that when i try to install them, it detects the files already exist though they are a larger size, which leads me to believe they are included in one of the above mods and have a higher resolution or something.

But i would like to know for sure if someone could confirm?

Thanks for your time.

No. In fact I think that to include a full Bethesda plugin inside your mod could derive in LEGAL problems to modders. I doubt that exist any mod that "includes" Bethesda official plugins. There are mods probably inspired in some Bethesda mods and some others that modifies vanilla Bethesda plugins, but don't include the plugin itself and overhauls and big mods (Tamriel Rebuilt isn't a overhaul is a "new lands" mod) don't include official plugins.

Are you using GOG version? Because Gog version includes Bethesda plugins and Steam version don't.

MGSO modifies many vanilla Morrowind features as meshes, textures, sounds, scripts or even the exe (with MGEXE) so changes everything, but don't uses official plugins and less "include" them.

Tamriel Rebuilt don't uses any other plugin. They are building the continental part of Morrowind, using only vanilla ".esm" and their own creations.

Morrowind Rebirth, I'm less sure, because I never use (I only checked it), but I strongly doubt it.

It's strange, all of their meshes and textures seem to exist already though much newer and slightly larger, though the .esp's are not there.
Except for the Master Index, nothing from that plugin seems to exist.

I think what has happened is one of these mods modifies the files that should have already existed if i had installed them first, but seeing as there was no file to overwrite with a better one, they were just placed there but not active in the game.

I wonder if i could just copy the .esp's and use them as they are?

Edit: I redownloaded them from the wiki and dropped them in anyway but chose to keep the existing files and all seems to be well so far...

Well, some new textures or meshes for Bethesta plugins are perfectly possible in MGSO or Morrowind Rebirth. But I don't recomend you to simply install that old plugins after the overhauls, because probably they are going to re-install old (very old, pre-Tribunal) meshes or textures.

If the overhaul that changes official plugins is MGSO is a bit less problematic because you always could re-run the program from your Morrowind folder. And for example, Siege at Firemoth after TR and without re-run distant lands can coause weird problems.

So check to re-run your MGSO after official plugins.

Morrowind Rebirth seems to have its own problems with Bethesda plugins, but I don't know enough about this mod.

I racommend you also to use some plugin manager, and specially "bad GMSTs" cleaner.

And I find this patch for official plugins:

Thank you for your reply, i will use tes3cmd to clean them as i need to do clean some other mods anyway. I use Wrye Mash for managing my mods which seems to work really well (especially the repair function!), and thanks for the link i will definitely check it out!
