how about you just start making ideas and literally use your brain, just like Albert Einstein said: "Imagination opens the gate of the intelligence."
if this comment was rude, please forgive me.
The game itself hasnt changed. Rather what you want to get out of it has.
That said, you dont need people to enjoy a video game. Ive found myself capable of ignoring all of those communities and finding that the games are really just as good as the day I installed them. ^^
Though that was a few months ago, maybe a different discord exists nowadays but its probably equally as bad. Its why I like the steam forums more than discords or reddit since steam attracts more normal people.
If some based chads bother you to the point where you can't enjoy the game that's a you issue. I still enjoy Pizza Tower despite plenty of people playing it being kids or pro-Ts. ACK!
The guy isn't mad that "le evil right wingers" aren't banned in social spaces, he is mad that the creator himself doesn't make regular callout posts on twitter disavowing people that make based memes.
I have known about the game for almost as long as you - the SAGE demo was very fun back then, but with that I am not too sure whether I want to buy the full game or not for multiple reasons.
Each time I wanna buy it, there's just something lingering in my mind telling me that I should wait until either it gets updated or it gets dlc... Maybe when it's on sale. In short, I don't feel very compelled.
Hard disagree here, I do think the game has gotten more shallow as time went by and the only thing that keeps it alive are the mods.
Previous builds had Snick and the Noise. I really liked the Noise, he was my favorite of the bunch. His moveset was unique, but he got nerfed repeatedly to keep him to the same level as Peppino, if I recall the issue correctly. Then, he got removed from the game entirely, but at least, the developers will perhaps put him back into the game, so that's a relief.
The new playable character seems more complicated than fun (Also given the fact that making a playable character that's in actuality two different characters à la Ice Climbers can be finnicky) and I personally didn't know that Gustavo was a real character until the full Steam release. I don't think he replaces Snick and the Noise all that well. It doesn't help either that he isn't a standalone character, but is instead a character that replaces Peppino in 2 levels only.
Previous builds had a level editor, where did that go? I would have loved to make my own levels in it, and it would have worked perfectly fine with the Steam workshop.
Several levels were scrapped, and usually that's fine, but the game has a total of 5 levels per floor, including a boss level, which is not all that much. So, all the hard work the developers put into these levels went to waste because they wanted to publish the game on Steam sooner and thus the game is much shorter in length.
For example, there was a circus level planned at some point in development with a fully functioning transformation, but it got relegated to a small room in the hub area.
Additionally, I liked the idea of challenge/gauntlet levels, but they got scrapped too. The Snick.exe challenge from the SAGE demo was tough, but I liked it - It reflected the creative level design of all the levels very well.
The heat meter would have been a neat addition, and I think this is the only time I can blame the community for something because they are seemingly responsible for its removal.
The final boss had a fourth phase where he and Peppino would get very angry at each other, but the final phase is the third phase where Peppino does 4 points of damage to the bosses.
The final judgment is weird too, it functions as a completion tracker rather than what it should be, a little statistics screen. One judgment, the one where Peppino calls the cops on the player, would have been used if the player hurts Peppino too much in the course of the game, and this would have been great to see it work that way.
The reason why this was changed, to my knowledge, was due mainly to replayability issues on a single save file. Yet, anybody can kill snotty and this will permanently affect the save file, so why give this treatment to the final judgment in particular?
TetraBitGaming has many videos detailing all the cut content from the game, and personally I think this is a bit excessive. That's why I am reluctant to buy the game - I'm afraid it will be an underwhelming experience because of all the cuts and changes. The game did improve in many areas over its development, but it went south in others. It looks way more streamlined and unfinished than it should have been.
If I had to rate the game on a scale between 0% and 100% where 100% is its peak in quality and 0% is no game at all, more like the Alpha stage. Then, Pizza Tower looks like a 65%.
Doesn't affect the game itself and theres still plenty of cool mods out there though
