What bindings do keyboard players use?

I played the game a bit with default key bindings and right now I feel like my little finger just can't hold it... Having to hold shift for extended amount of time just makes it feel sore. How do you guys deal with that?

Honestly, rebinding controls on keyboard is kind of a crapshoot since the menu buttons are locked to the action buttons (e.x. "confirm" is always the same key as jump), so I think most people either stick with the default configuration or go with a gamepad.
If the shift key is the main problem for you, I would try substituting it for the spacebar and see if it won't strain your thumb in the same way.

I use WASD+SPACE for movement and the numpad for everything else. My little finger is usually spared, because dash works without the movement keys (on Peppino at least).

Space - Dash
J - Attack
K - Jump
L - Taunt

No little finger needed

wasd = movement
Space = jump
capslock = grab
shift = dash
e = taunt

Easy grab-dash and easy to reach taunt without using little finger.

I was like you OP. Even just doing the tutorial with the default controls left my pinky finger feeling uncomfortable and sore after a couple levels.

So I switched to:

Q - Mach Run
W - Grab
E - Taunt
Spacebar - Jump

Left the directional keys for movement.

i litteraly just use the default keybinds and ive P ranked all the bosses
