Best controllers for this game
Normally I stick to keyboard and mouse, I usually play fps games and others that don't need controllers but I just can't get used to using the keyboard for this game. Recommend me a controller, I'll take wires over wireless.

I use this one really niche controller with like hundreds of buttons. Even though I only use like nine of them, all the buttons being a uniform size and very tactile make it one of the best controllers, especially for a game like this.
ps5 controller is very nice if you have one, its very convenient because it has usb C and the default bindings feel very natural imo.

PS4 and PS5 controllers have a very good d-pad in a comfortable position, highly recommended for sidescroller games. Main downside is that not all games support Playstation button icons, fortunately Pizza Tower doesn't have that issue. I've personally been using the Switch SNES controller, which is great if you're emotionally incapable of letting go of the 1990s.

I've been using a ps3 controller for years, works great. honestly any controller would work as I don;t personally feel like the analog sticks are the best choice for this game. Instead I used the dpad on the ps3 controller.

Any controller that have separated D-Pad buttons would help! However those are a rarity outside of arcade sticks, so I think the PS4/PS5 controllers are your best bet.

Surprised you cant get the hang of it in Keyboard, tbh, I've been playing on emulators for so long, Keyboard is basically my natural skill when it comes to 2D platformers

I use ps4 controller. Works very good for me.

I DON'T recommend Xbox controllers.

+1 PS4 controller. Very responsive for me. I hardly ever mistakenly press Up.

Been playing with my Xbox One controller with the super jump mapped to the left trigger and disabling super jumping with the dpad, and it's been awesome. I'm not sure how much the clicky dpad is helping with that but I love playing with it.
I've been playing the game with a PS4 controller. They're are one of my favorite controllers and I personally prefer it over PS5 controllers.

Are you using an Atari Jaguar controller? LOL

i'd hate to be that guy but unironically keyboard. It's so cozy to just hold down multiple buttons at a time.

ESDF (or WASD) on movement

J for jump, K for elbow dash, L for running dash, I for taunt.

It makes super taunting easier, dashing into a sprint is easier because you just slam middle finger and then ring finger, so on. The only major complaint is that if you have to use K a lot for a gimmick, parrying with taunt is a little weird. However, that's pretty minor. If you're crazy enough you could put taunt on spacebar but, yeah, I think that's a little weird.

X360 has been fine for me. Wired, cheap, sturdy and no need for faffing about and feels natural to hold the trigger to dash.
I use a nintendo switch pro controller when playing pizza tower sometimes, but the buttons act a little weird though.

I've been using a Logitech F310 for years. I initially bought it for testing controller inputs in game development, but it's actually such a solid controller I've never needed anything nicer.
In short: it's wired, cheap as hell, and indestructible.
My only complaint with Pizza Tower is that RT gets tiring to hold due to the trigger's high spring strength, so I just rebound that button to RB.
