Why is my game running so bad
My computer isn't incredible but it's not awful, but the game just does not run well for some reason. It runs mediocre in full screen, gets worse over time, and then turns terrible if I so much as tab out for a second, and outside of fullscreen it is unbearable. This game is great and the artstyle is good but pizza tower of all things should not be chugging.

I think this game uses Game Maker? and I know game maker can be surprisingly slow sometimes and under certain computers.

What are your specs btw? have you put max perfomance settings on your graphic card settings? that option helps a lot with some games surprisingly (looking at you binding of isaac Rebirth)

My specs are:
Ram: 8GB
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650
OS: Windows 10 Home
I feel there's other specs I should be listing but this is what I'm remembering.
As for max performance settings on my graphics card, I can't find the setting atm, but I'm fairly certain that yes I did set that towards performance.

Ok your computer is more than enough to run this game!
There's probably something else causing issues, uh you have the correct drivers and stuff? maybe an antivirus causing issues?

The way it gets slower over time makes me think it has to do with thermals. If that CPU you mentioned is right then you're using a laptop, and that's a common issue for laptops.

Install MSI afterburner and enable the overlay (search up a guide for this!) to monitor your temps. If they're really high, you need to open it up and get rid of the dust bunnies. Make sure none of the cooling vents are being blocked while you're playing.

If it's not temps, then it might be hardware jank. The computer could be switching to your integrated graphics. Again, MSI afterburner will be able to show you what GPU it's running on.

If it's not that either, it could be another app or antivirus that's taking up space. Download and run an antivirus like Malwarebytes (regardless of if it fixes anything, it's good for your 'puter), then try running the game in a window with the task manager open next to it. See if anything weird starts using a lot of stuff.

(edit)
While you're at it, check if the issues persist when you're charging it. The CPU can throttle significantly while on battery.

Update: I went into the NVIDIA Control Panel, went to Manage 3D Settings, made a specific profile for Pizza Tower, and switched the "Preferred Graphics Processor" from "Auto" to "High Performance NVIDIA processor" because for some reason auto was setting it to integrated. This seems to have fixed it.

Hey Im glad you could find the solution, yeah sometimes Laptops tend to do that, to make sure, also in the nvidia control panel change the energy settings (or power management, one of the two) to max perfomance, it can be helpful for games done in the Game Maker Engine.
