Everything possible. The more information the better. Like for example, when hovering over the guns, a popup showing the upgrades affecting it, and their stats as well would be useful.
Being able to understand or see each aspect of things as you go is important for a game that involves transforming numbers. If there is something that has more information to it, give it to us in a tooltip. If there is information about how something works that isnt written on the objects ui, give it to us in a tool tip, etc.
Alternatively, you could give us a codex, but it needs to be available during stages as well. The tooltips need to be in all aspects of the game too. The shop, the equipment, the level up choices and pause menu, the choices as you pick levels etc.
I unlocked most of the other weapons and upgrades since that op, and i have one more suggestion. I think you may need to change the number of choices per level from 3 to 4. Or at least provide a reasonabley early unlock to equip something that increases the number of upgrades choices per level.
With the number of items to pick between that (and as a someone who enjoys the game hopefully more in the future) you get after unlocking a bunch of things, it becomes much hard to get something useful, or worse to get something that isnt counter to your current build.
One of the fun things about survivor games isnt just the progression or the base gameplay, but is figuring out builds that go crazy and trying them out until you get it working. Its awesome that in your game everything can go crazy as you build it up enough, so anything is a great choice, BUT because of this the opposite is also true and its easier to "brick" your build than it is in some other survivor games. I think simply giving one extra choice per level up would go a long way to fix this issue, before it becomes even worse in the future.
