Double jump?

I am just trying out the tutorial...is there a double jump in this game? I am playing on controller and it said to hold "x" while jumping but I do not notice a difference between holding it and tapping it. Am I doing something wrong here lol?

Double jump unlocks at the end of the demo IIRC

There's definitely a double jump in the game that you get at the start, a touch after the tutorial part in the full game.
