unskippable cutscenes
@Dev's: We can't skip the cutscenes? Please tell me I'm wrong. If so, this is a bad decision that will kill replayability. Ubisoft got their asses handed to them for this in FC3 & FC4. Please don't recreate this mistake. Cutscene's are fine first time around, but over and over? (Presuming people are wanting to replay this low framerate game)

Please give your customers the option of skipping cutscenes.

The cutscenes can be skipped. The intro video can't, but everything afterwards can.

Ok.. I tried ESC, space, enter, etc.. evidently it was id10t.. thanks for replying.

Btw, when hiding in the dumpster, it says use the 'interact' key to get out; when its actually the jump key.. (at least for my bindings)

hey MTL5. What is/are the keys to skip these cutscenes? For instance, Parrish's rant in front of the camera. I tried ESC (goes to menu), left & right click, enter, space, F1... what is it?

Usually you press space and then enter or something like that. I can't recall because I don't usually skip cutscenes. It's possible that some cutscenes can't be skipped. But it definitely works for most of them.

The game should come up with a prompt to press enter to skip, I believe. And said prompt is usually triggered by pressing space.

I am playing my 2nd way thru.. some cutscenes you can skip, but most cannot. If the scene is skippable, press the space bar and a prompt will come up that says "Press Enter to Skip". If it's not skippable, then.. well.. tough luck.

I'm glad you don't skip cutscenes, but some of us do; especially when playing thru the game again. In my opinion (& I realize this forum is full of them), the best scenario would've been given the customer the option to skip, that way it's our prerogative and then everyone's happy.

I thought the dev community was well aware of the blowback Ubisoft got for forcing cutscenes onto paying customers in their FC3 & FC4 games. The blowback was well documented, but I guess I was wrong in my assumption. It just seems intuitive, to me, to give the customer the option.

I'm pretty sure that all the major story cutscenes can be skipped. For example, you can skip the scenes where you talk to Parrish and Dana and Sam in the area behind the train cars.

There are usually technical reasons why some cutscenes can't be skipped. And in Homefront, when you skip cutscenes, the camera sometimes misbehaves for a few seconds.

edit:
Can you give an example of a cutscene you couldn't skip? It's important to note that if you've got control over Brady, you're not actually in a "cutscene" per se. I'm not familiar with the newer CryEngines, but traditionally the cutscene engine was used for scripted sequences and cutscenes, and these were treated differently.

Rubble falls down = scripted sequence.
Your character walks over to a computer = cutscene.

Only cutscenes could be skipped. And skipping the cutscene moved the timeline to the last frame, where a lot of "hide entity, destroy entity, set flags" kinda stuff was located.

Well, the one that comes to mind is Parrish's rant in front of the TV camera. There are more, I know, so I'll bring them up when I find them. I'm in my 2nd playthru, but honestly the framerate issue is getting kind of weary to me. I am aware that in some cases you can simply walk away and ignore the character and the story will continue.

Thanks for putting up w/ all of our abuse, MTL5.

It would be nice if the developers would actually answers people's questions, but since they're not doing much of that, someone has to do it. I'm really quite fond of the game, and I want people to have a good experience.

Hey man.

1.6 patch

I cannot skip the scene where Scozzari and his cohort and beating the crap out of me in the beginning.
I cannot skip Dana's/Parrish's introduction scene. (Not the part where you walk around & Cook gives you the pistol..before that when you're captive in the chair)
Dana and Parrish in the 'war room' talking about Walker leading to the Armory mission.. can't skip that either.
I can't walk away from Burnett in his monologue in the train..

did they REMOVE the ability to skip cutscenes?

:(

2 (not to nitpick, but it is necessary for Philly Alpha to give me kudos every time I progress a hearts & minds act when in a YZ?)

3 is it me or is the 'photograph generator' side mission not working?

4 Can they add in a patch so that we can put a knife in the gullet of that self righteous a***hole Sam Burnett?

Sam Burnett is right, though.
