Looks like Far Cry 5. If it's a sequel to Homefront, it should look, feel and behave like Homefront. That means PvP multiplayer.
Um, what?
Clueless is just clueless. You go ahead and spend $60+ on a short scripted campaing and coop, not me.
Dude, seriously? What are you talking about?
The thing that killed off HF as soon as it did and drove them out of business was that Kaos were so caught up in all their hubris glory, that they refused to listen to me or anyone else in the community. When I said hey you should try this, or you should do that, a typical response form Edmar would be "that's not how we do things". Well guess what? How you do things got you run out of business!
They divided and screwed the community with the DLC content. You cant even join a server with a DLC map running on it, if you dont own that DLC pack. STUPID! They tried to be CoD/Activision by releasing pay for DLC map content. STUPID! If they had released those maps as free addons with their fixes and updates they would still be in business. If they would have released an SDK and mod/map support, as I and many others asked for, and as they originally eluded they would, HF would STILL be rocking out today and Kaos would still be in business.
Look at CoD4 MW or CoD WaW. Hell even CoD2 still has more players than HF BECAUSE of the mod support. MW is almost 8 yrs old and still has thousands playing, BECAUSE of the mod support. they still are selling these games for $20 each, and they still sell like crazy.
All I have tried to do with Deep Silver is the same as I did with Kaos, guide them in the right direction to produce a game that we want, will be successful and make them a ton of money. If they continue down the path they are on, the curse of Homefront will bring the end of another developer. It could easily make them, but will definitely break them if they dont listen.
I am a man of my word. Deep Silver asked for some time to work on the game since they just took it over. I waited a full year to hear from them, and now they simply ignore me. I let them know I would launch a campaign to make sure their sales are hurt if they are not going to give us the game we asked for. After another full year into development, they know full well whether or not there will be an MP aspect to the game. Their silence is proof enough for me that the 4 player coop is all we are getting. That is not good enough for me.
And so the campaign begins...
I'm holding out a little hope that they will add it. Without it, I see no reason to purchase this game until it's deeply discounted.
Why do people feel that ALL games MUST have multi-player or they suck. So sick of Steam forums being inundated with this!
The comment made by this thread isn't about ALL games. It's about a particular game that had most, if not all, of its appeal in its multiplayer component.
Homefront was about player versus player on maps pulled from its campaign story. HF:R is Far Cry 5 with less color and no competitive mp.
I am quite sick of people in Steam forums with such low standards, if that is howe you feell go play on a console, youll be much happier. A VAST majority, as in excess of 90% of the games have single player. We/I do not want ANOTHER single player game. Some of us enjoy the online pvp MP experience. You dont like that? GTFO! This thread is not for you.
Tig-
I have waited patiently for a year now with no word from them about MP. Thinking they may/can/will add MP after the fact is non-sensical. If it is not there at release, we are not going to see it. We are not getting MP for this game, mark my word. Hell even a big release like CoD Ghosts they said there would be rentable servers post release. Only reason I bought the game. Guess what? Never happened.
There is NOT going to be a MP element to HFTR. The sooner you realize this te better. For me, its all about hurting their sales now.
Well it is made by Cryrek/Former Crytek people who made the origonal Far Cry (and of course Crysis) so of course it looks like a Far Cry Sequel. The origonal Homefront sucked, it had a good premise but the actual game was rubish. Haveing a more open 'far cry' style to a resistance operation in a city makes more sense and looks way more interesting than a linear style shooter...
Not so fast, kid.
"Homefront: The Revolution hands-on: The revolution might be sanitized
A year after we first laid eyes on the game, Homefront: The Revolution looks decidedly less revolutionary."

Interesting article - apart from the fact they left out a bunch of info. They said there are no civilians, which is wrong and not true - there are no civs in the red zones as they are effectivly pure military controlled zones. There are civs and in the yellow and green zones...And this is where you will see people getting harrased and chased and executed, the things they saw in last years demo...they are all still there.
Also the article mentioned that it 'was' a Crytek game but then got bought out by Deep Silver - which is true..but they also brought over most of the team that was working on the game too. They did this so it would not interupt the development of the game and keep it to the origonal Crytek vision. To the point where the people showing off the game are still wearing Crytek shirts.
Another thing is that the demo is only 1 small slice of the game - there are other gameplay vids out there that show off different elements of the game and tone, again things the article said were missing...they are still there, just not is this small limited demo currently being shown around.
I am not some fanboy just defending the game, for all i know it could turn out to be rubbish, but the article was being very selective and was down right wrong in several cases, thats all...
You see plenty of civs and 'opression' in this vid...
