I guess theres still no fps fix?
So, from what i could find, there was a bug where you would get like 30fps or less outside, but high framerates inside. People were using a work around since it was only using 1 cpu core, the workaround forced it to use all cores. Then i seen it eventually got fixed.

Well, indoors i get a solid 120fps, but anytime im outside its still going all over the place, from like 90 to as low as 20. And even when its at 60 or above, its still like super choppy. I tried the workaround i had found but it didnt work. This is running at 1440p or 1080, no matter the graphics settings.

My specs are
3600x
Rx6600
64gb ram
Installed on a m.2

Is this still a problem thar will never be fixed?

I very much am. Whats weird is it seems alot more smooth and stable, and I get higher framerates at night. When im inside somewhere no matter the time of day, all is good, but out in the streets during the day, forget about it. ill go from 120 locked, all the way down to the 20s, but mainly 30s to 40s, as soon as i step out into the street.
impossible to say with this little informartion, ofcourse you get more framrates when you are in a room where the gfx card needs to render much less frames. it can be all from bios settings, to windows, gfx card settings, settings in game, power source etc...
You should let someone you can you know who is skilled with booth hardware and software help you out with remote help to check it out, I prefer "Teamviewer" it is excellent and free of charge

im familiar with bios changes and such, I work in IT lol. This is a widely reported issue and has been since launch, its a game issue thats still an issue apparently.

It's the game itself. It's poorly optimized. If you want to see how bad just use DXVK. Download that and use the DX11.dll and the dxgi.dll from the X64 folder. Drop those two files into your gsmes exe folderWhen you first load into the gsme take a look around while it loads shaders. Your FPS will go through the roof compared to with out it. There is definitely something wrong with their rendering engine. CPU usage is there but GPU usage isn't unless you use DXVK and then suddenly it can run faster.

I had tried everything suggested in other threads, but nothing - including forcing it to use all cores - did help at all. Performance just stayed between irregular 20 and 60 fps. Which really shouldn't be the case with my hardware.

And putting the DXVK files into the games folder actually helped and now things are quite stable. So Thanks a lot!

Ok, my first crash now. After entering Restricted Area near the end of the game I'm getting a reproducable crash, even if reloading an old save and getting back there. It always seems to crash shortly after having loaded into the game (or directly on loading when using the same save again).

Edit: Uninstalled. Easy fixes didn't work and I was pretty close to the ending anyway. But since the story resolution didn't interest me much... Well, I still have the save files, so in case anybody has a good idea about what the problem might be, feel free to speak up.

I installed this fix, havent crashed in the time ive played, but I cant tell if it actually did anything or not. It seems like its BETTER, but that could be placebo/the general inconsistencies of this game. But it defiantly didnt FIX the problems, at least not enough to say yes it absolutely had an effect.

I do think the massive framerate drops have smoothed out some, as in going from 110fps to 30 to 80 to 20, but it still does happen where I will randomly loose like 100fps for seemingly no reason, just to jump back up. It does seem to stay at least more around the 50s-60ish range when they drop, but still, 40-100fps loss is massive and shouldnt be happening at all. you can say 60fps is still very playable, but going from 120 to 60 and back randomly, thats huge. I guess theres some tweaks some people may have better luck with then others, but this game at its core is just broken and horribly optimized.

Shame because going back to it, even though it got alot of hate on launch (from me included, I bought it on launch on ps4 and never finished it) there is some fun in it going in and taking it for what it is. Whether it will ever be one of those "underrated/hidden gems" people talk about in the future idk, but throw in the big performance problems I see that only hurting it in that regard.

It was definitely a massive improvement for me. There were still short periods of very noticeable lag somewhat regularly, but not nearly as consistently as before. Didn't have FRAPS running, but it mostly felt quite stable.

Shoot I forgot about that. There is one place I had a crash and it's after you walk out of a building in the restricted zone. You talk to one of the leaders in the basement. Then climb back up the ladder then head back outside. You can walk outside and look left with no issues but as soon as you look to your right or turn left until you're facing where you would have looked right the game crashes. It seems to only happen when you look to the right. I never did figure that out. I just removed the DXVK DLLs and played without them until I got out of that area/map.
