You should let someone you can you know who is skilled with booth hardware and software help you out with remote help to check it out, I prefer "Teamviewer" it is excellent and free of charge
I had tried everything suggested in other threads, but nothing - including forcing it to use all cores - did help at all. Performance just stayed between irregular 20 and 60 fps. Which really shouldn't be the case with my hardware.
And putting the DXVK files into the games folder actually helped and now things are quite stable. So Thanks a lot!
Edit: Uninstalled. Easy fixes didn't work and I was pretty close to the ending anyway. But since the story resolution didn't interest me much... Well, I still have the save files, so in case anybody has a good idea about what the problem might be, feel free to speak up.
I do think the massive framerate drops have smoothed out some, as in going from 110fps to 30 to 80 to 20, but it still does happen where I will randomly loose like 100fps for seemingly no reason, just to jump back up. It does seem to stay at least more around the 50s-60ish range when they drop, but still, 40-100fps loss is massive and shouldnt be happening at all. you can say 60fps is still very playable, but going from 120 to 60 and back randomly, thats huge. I guess theres some tweaks some people may have better luck with then others, but this game at its core is just broken and horribly optimized.
Shame because going back to it, even though it got alot of hate on launch (from me included, I bought it on launch on ps4 and never finished it) there is some fun in it going in and taking it for what it is. Whether it will ever be one of those "underrated/hidden gems" people talk about in the future idk, but throw in the big performance problems I see that only hurting it in that regard.
Shoot I forgot about that. There is one place I had a crash and it's after you walk out of a building in the restricted zone. You talk to one of the leaders in the basement. Then climb back up the ladder then head back outside. You can walk outside and look left with no issues but as soon as you look to your right or turn left until you're facing where you would have looked right the game crashes. It seems to only happen when you look to the right. I never did figure that out. I just removed the DXVK DLLs and played without them until I got out of that area/map.
