Vulkan is another graphic API, with time it is getting as good if not more good than DirectX. I hope Vulkan become the norms someday and we can finallly say goodbye to Microsoft for gaming. Doom did not use DirectX, it was using OpenGL I think, maybe that's why it was possible for the game to use Vulkan since Vulkan is basically the next generation of OpenGL.

"it has no graphics", what are you, blind?

Friendly reminder that Homefront's engine and Doom 4's engine (graphics, at least) were created by the same person. So it's kinda silly to bash one or the other.

Anyhow, the basic problem here is that Crytek decided to go for DX12, not Vulkan. I don't think there are any forks running Vulkan, although the Star Citizen team have expressed interest.

edit:
Actually, CryEngine V apparently supports Vulkan. But Homefront is running on CryEngine 4, so that's not really applicable.

Vulkan freezes and crashes my pc in Doom and its a 6700k with a Titan X Superclocked. Thanks, but no. They better optimize the game.
