Resolution Locked
Why can't i change the resolution in this game? Every game i play is at 3200*1800p but this game doesn't allow me to change the resolution and stays locked at 900p No cfg files to edit no ini files either. Was looking forward to buy it but if this the case i will pass. Game is good, performs well on my 1080 but i dont want to play at 900p

You can modify C:\Users\Account Name\Saved Games\homefront2\game.cfg All CryEngine games tend to store their save files and/or cfg files there.

There cfg file has the resolution as 3200*1800 i desire but the game is not adapting to it.

you have a gtx1080 but have a monitor with a native res of 1600x900?

What do you mean? Is the game resetting back in the options menu?

BTW, you are in fullscreen mode, right?

I'm kinda out of the loop with some of this stuff. Why is it that some people are playing games at resolutions that clearly aren't their native desktop resolution? For example, when I boot Homefront, it defaults to my screen's native resolution. I can even switch to borderless windowed without issue.

What exactly is being done here, resolution-wise?

Yes it is fullscreen i never use bordless at all. There is a same thread regarding this issue and yet not resolved by devs

if you mean people running above their native res for games then that is DSR for Nvidia. I have a 1080p screen but play nearly every game at 1440p or 4k DSR with a gtx1080.

EDIT: hmm DSR is not working in this game just like the OP says...

I do that for better quality since my monitor is 5 years old and i saving for a new 4k i am using this and the dsr helps me get that 1800p details and quality so i dont have to play at low resolutions.

The game natively supports super sampling in the options menu. Maybe the game's super sampling conflicts with what you're trying to do?

Yes that is what i need help with, even i am using dsr and all my games max out to 3200*1800p but this game doesn't no matter what i do. Only this game and i cannot play at 900p it looks awful. EDiting the cfg files or manually tweaking in game hasn't resolved my problem here

I will try tweaking it. Hang on.

I just edited my comment as DSR is indeed not working...

Okay i tried everything but the other user trek554 confirmed dsr doesnt work so that is the problem. Thanks for the help though.
trek554 Sep 10, 2016 @ 6:41am
well there is a workaround. set your desktop to the res you want and the game will use it. and really this is not the only game that does not support DSR.
