No Dialogue Sound

Music works fine. The opening story is fine. New anchor: Fine.

But the other characters trying to talk to me? No sound.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Likely an issue with your sound driver. Can you post the contents of Steam\steamapps\common\Homefront_The_Revolution\Game.log please? It'll likely have some details on your sound drivers.

Could be...except, its onboard sound through 5.1 speakers. And it works on literally every other game I play. Plus, it works in this game as well, for the new opening monologue, as well as the newscaster. Its only the voice actors talking individually that are a problem.

Its been my experience previously, that this is a sign the game does not adequately support surround sound systems. Which in this day and age is simply pathetic. So if that is true - and I am not saying yet that it is definitively - I wont be buying the game.

It is possible files got corrupted, though. We had a power outage due to inclement weather here while I was downloading the game. So I verified the cache.

I plan to try it later through 7.1 headphones that have worked with numerous games. If it also does not work with those, then I can declare it a game problem, not a system problem.

I also have this same problem. After the intro video all the NPCs are mute. All my other games work fine. If anyone figures out how to fix this it would be appreciated.

Same Problem here. I see the NPCs mouth doin stuff, but cant hear it. Sounddriver freshly updated. This is the first game EVER i cant play becouse i dont even know what to do.

You probably should refund. This is a weird bug, and if the developers can't reproduce it themselves, there's no knowing when a fix might be coming.

With luck, if you come back and buy the game in 6 months or so, it'll have been fixed.

i had the same problem. try to check your sound options. the voice comes tru the center right or left speaker. depending from where they speak. for me i use a aux input and a soundbar which has 5,1 but actually i have no centerbox so i coud never hear if they spoke infront of me. after disabling the centerbox in windows it worked!

If you have Realtek HD Audio Manager then try to go to C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtkNGUI64.exe and try to change your Connector Settings to AC97 Front Panel. This worked for me.
