Playable Character Stories?

When i switch characters from the starting character the "Start Story" option vanishes.

Does that mean the other two playable characters have no story or campaign whatsoever? No romance options or companions or rivals and enemies? They're just empty, bland sandbox(that I assume the story character offers too) and nothing else?

Only Charles has a story currently.

Right but what I mean is, does that mean the others don't get ANYTHING? They can't do quests or romances or companions or anything but sail around doing random sandbox stuff?

And by 'currently' does that mean the others are going to get story campaigns at some point?

The devs are planning to add the story mode for the other two characters eventually and have been promising the Spaniard's story for what feels like forever. In fact, they're doing a podcast tomorrow on their Discord where they're going to "discuss the future". I guess we'll wait and see what it's about.

they should have had the new stories ready for the release and at the least quests to be able to get unique ships and characters in sandbox

Yeah I mean I would be fine, if we just had at least the unique ships / romance story lines for immersion + the national crews for all nationalities when playing for example "the spanish". This would be fine with me. Hopefully they will impliment them at some point and remove the encryption.

Yeah there's a lot they should have had ready for release that wasn't, this upcoming update and roadmap is gonna make or break the longevity of this game. There's stuff that's been promised since like 2018 that we've still been waiting on and a lot of it was expected to be in CL on release.

That's a shame. I didn't even think there were multiple characters to play but once I flipped over I was surprised to see a spaniard. Which made me realize that all the pirate games and movies pretty much NEVER feature a spaniard as the protagonist. Which is weird when you think about how huge and active spain was in the age of pirates.

I mean, it's not even a racial thing. Spaniards are every bit as european as the french and english. But they're never protagonists in this setting. So I was all set to take the spanish guy for a spin when I noticed the story option was gone.

Ah well. Viva la france.

Diego has been a planned character since TEHO's inception and he STILL doesn't have a story, idk what's taking them so long.
