Where is the world map!?

How the hell are you supposed to open the map of the world and see where you are going? All I can do is use my phone and estimate where things are! Can anyone help?

If you're on the screen with the 3d ship you push return and then "go to map" you sail on the world map. If you want maps that you can look at you need to find/buy them.

I know how to get to the world map of the game! What I need is a actual map of the world that I can use to navigate and tell where I am going. If I press tab all it does is unlock the camera from me which means that I get attacked from pirates!
Is there an actual map that I can use to plot my position in the caribbean and tell how to get from one island to another?

Did you EQUIP the map? If you have one in your possession I think you need to then equip it somewhere before it actually shows up.

You could get a map on google, in game find someone who sells

Yeah, I've been using my phone and using maps from that. I didn't realise there wasn't an actual map of the world like you have in the Beyond New Horizons mod, so I've been frustrated trying to find something that doesn't exist (feel a bit silly now!). All you can do is press tab to unlock the camera in the world. I haven't played the original TEHO as I found it too grindy so I didn't realise. Thank you all for your help though, and apologies to Fitzy again for my rudeness.

Go to sea, press enter, go to atlas, zoom out. You can sail on the world map and be super zoomed out. When you get close to an island you want to dock with, go back to the boat view and press enter and dock with one of the ports that will show up.
