sea travel distance/time?

i have been tacking north for what seems forever and am still in martinique - sea. i have been traveling at around 10 knots for the most part, on 8x speed. i passed a couple islands that i circled, and could not find any sign of a city or anything on. what am i doing wrong?

i zoomed out with the map... and was almost there. didnt realize you could get a weather balloon view that sped you up even more. lol.

I didn't realize this in another of Blackmark's games; Pirates of the Caribbean, when I started playing I tried (in futile) to sail away from the starting island, sailing from island to island was (supposed to be) impossible without the overworld. Modders fixed that. Though you want to hit enter and switch to map to move around quickly.

Depending on your quest you'll want to use that sparingly, because using the world map view also makes time go by much, much quicker. So if you have a quest that requires you to travel across the map in 10 days, you'll want to do most of your sailing in direct sail mode or you will never make it in time.
