So how is the game?
I was playing Sid Meiers Pirates on steam with HD mods and Flag mods was having a blast.

I assume this game is nothing like Sid Meiers Pirates or does it have anything similar to Sid Meiers Pirates, thinking about getting this, just wanted to hear from people who have already played it.

I heard it's similar to Sea Dogs, never played that game before.

It is basically Sea Dogs: TEHO with all the DLCs and some extra content. Less crashes (so far, no crashes for me) and less bugs, better graphics and such. There's the Sandbox only version, give that a quick try. If you like it, then buy the full version. The Sandbox version is basically a demo of the full game (the full game also has a sandbox mode too)

Personally I love it, but there is a steep learning curve and the controls will take some time getting used to if you've never played any of the other games in the series.

As MoonClipper said you can try the free Sandbox version to see if it's something you might enjoy.

I'm not a big fan of having a player or Pirate walk around towns and trying to talk to people. I want to talk to maybe 2 or 3 people and go.

I was downloading the Sandbox version then I found Sid Meiers Pirates again, they have pretty cool mods on Nexus and a site called Hooked on Pirates like, HD mods and Pirates of the Tropicana "Pirates of the Tropicana has some nudity in it" or Brethren of the Coast, think Pirates of the Tropicana is Brethren of the Coast? they also have some flags mods and I might try the Europe one:steamthumbsup:

I was looking at some reviews and some of the play and I'm not really sure if I'd like it or not?

Fair enough. I'm the opposite though. I think there needs to be a balance of ground and sea. This is why I'm not interested in Skull and Bones because a pirate game that consists of all navel gameplay is lame. TEHO though. Lol

I'm a big fan of Total War games and turn based games, but Sid Meiers Pirates was always a very fun game for me and this game is nothing like that game.

I want a game that adds the ability to capture settlements and convert them to Pirate nests or hideouts or colonies, also like looking for buried treasure, like ship battles and also would love to see land battles.

I might try this game some day who knows, I'll be watching some of the reviews and play throughs that will be coming out.

Is the combat janky like the Gothic/Risen games? If so, I'm in.
