How to speed up time? Whats the purpose of the map view you can do at sea? Nothing to click on.

Check your controls. On map press Tab

Default button is R.

The sea map is for getting places quicker with the caveat being that time moves much faster. So if you have a quest that wants you go across the map in 10 days, you'll want to use it sparingly or you won't make it in time.

How do you make time pass more quickly on land? I do things, like talk to people, etc., but time doesn't move.

Right now I have a brothel quest where I'm supposed to pick up a girl at 11pm. It's currently 5:30pm in the afternoon, and playing cards in the tavern doesn't seem to make time go by.

You can press enter > rest > and rest for how many hours you want.

It does that early game. You can actually just talk to the tavern keeper and it'll automatically move time forward to an appropriate time.
