Can't Find the Spyglass

All the previous versions... and I "thought" in this game, you just find it at a street vendor, but having checked a hundred vendors and found nothing but atronomical devices (which I don't understand fully) and of course all the weapons, potions and ingredients).

Well u can rarely find them tho. At least cheap and common ones. If u're meaning the best one it's only given after collecting all 24 good maps quests iirc

Can't find ANY... yet. Used to be you could find the cheap one every other port visit...

Cheap and common atronomical devices appear at merchants, in treasure troves - in-game with your character's development.
Players are guaranteed to get them on quests:
Cheap pipe - “Rum for the bartender”.
Normal → “Caribbean Mores”.
Good → “Last Lesson” → Grand Albalate.
Excellent → “The Slave Trader” → Task 6.
The ship's telescope can be obtained by collecting 24 excellent maps of the islands and returning them to Spanish cartographer Jose Dios, who resides in Santo Domingo.
* They're great cards appear in the game only after getting information about them from Jose Dios on the quest “Shark Hunt”.

That's the wierd thing I'm saying... I have been to the merchants hundred times or more and NEVER a spyglass.

Have you tried going to Curacao? Its a dutch colony and has this trade company like the VOC selling some instruments. you could try looking there.

After 18 levels, and searches every time I went to port, I finally found a spyglass (and yes it was in Curacao). I do wonder sometimes what kind of luck I live in. Just shows you how "pure" RNG can play out much more extreme than ever intended. (Always preferred "weighted" rng).

I always got my spyglasses from story & important side quests
