Last wish mission bugged?
I took on a last wish mission to find some captain going from tortuga to saint pierre in betwee 10-15 days
Its been 4 months now and the quest is still there and I have gone back and forth between these two islands and found no one.

Is this mission straight up bugged?
If so how can I cancel a mission as its preventing me from getting other last wish missions.

I do not know, if it is bugged, but that is a route where it is super easy to miss the ship you are looking for.

The ship might sail west of Hispaniola, between Hispaniola and Puerto Rico or east of Puerto Rico.

If I take a quest like this, I would make a save, sail one way and back, reload and sail the next way and back, reload and go the third way and back. If that does not work, I will reload my save, that I made just before I took the quest and just don't take it.

Sorry I can't help for this quest, but hopefully it might help you in the future.

Even if I missed the ship I'd expect that after 4 months the ship would have reached its destination and as such fail the quest no?

Yeah, with this game "expecting" is not the best way to go...

Are you new to this game or have you played Sea Dogs: To Each His Own (TEHO)? It is basically the same game just from over a decade ago.

I'm new I played PotC way back when.
I know the game is a buggy mess hence why I'm wondering if there's a way to cancel this mission so I can clear my logbook and pick up another one.

This I don't know. CL is really not that buggy compared to TEHO. But having play All Sea Dogs games, I just have this "create save all the time" mentality, so if something bugs out, I just reload an earlier save and play aroung the bug, until it is fixed...

Which BTW is fantastic on this game. I already had (confirmed) two bugs, that really stopped me from getting any further, but in the last big update and the one before that, they both got fixed within a few patches each. Shoutout to the Devs.

I do not know any way to cancel missions.. I just reload to before... Ans yes, I always have a matching save at hand...

Reloading is not an option the last save b4 that is 6 months ago by this point

Yeah, I know the feeling, it happened to me before, long time ago in the Sea Dogs games, but other games... In the Witcher 3, I made a mistake, that like 100 hours later came around.

I just started a new game...

If there is no reload for you, you can either just accept it and hope that maybe it goes away, reload that old save anyways and replay everything until now or ditch the game, if you feel it is game-breaking for you.

That is Sea Dogs... That's the reason why I told you about my saving-tick, so you can avoid it in the future.

Yeah I understand, would be nice if a dev opined on this.
Especially giving an option to just straight up abandon a quest.
Can't be too hard to implement can it?

Have to agree, should be able to abandon/fail a side quest at your own leisure, maybe just not the main story if you're playing story mode.

Speaking of main story that seems to also be bugged.
Tells me to speak with fadei, but I do an he has no dialogue or anything to do.
So I'm just left to my own devices I guess.
He told me I took too long to come talk to him and then nothing more.
Quest still tells me to talk to fadey tho.

Then you have to return to Michel. He'll tell you to get to Lvl 12 (Lvl 9 is the bare minimum) before you can embark on the next main story quest. You can do the Final Lesson quests in the time being.
