Starting Pirate Saga

So I checked first on the guide. I have just finished Flying the Jolly Roger, my god that ending SUUUUUCKED. My question now is am I in free-play? I have a task to go see Jan Svensson. I have been roaming around doing some trading and getting more amulets and I got a message that the quest timer was extended and I need to complete the quest? Will I keep getting that message or will it eventually time out?

What quests do you currently have active?

The Caleuche (Task: going to island to give musket to Shaman)
Vile Little God (Task: Working on final sacrifices, and 30 captains for minor task)
Burden of the Gascon (Task is to go visit Jan)

I also have 2 side tasks to hunt down stolen ships but I dont think they have a time limit

It's probably the caleuche that's being extended. As far as I know exploration mode gives you unlimited time but I've not played it myself so I don't know for certain. You can go speak to Jan any time you're ready to start pirate saga.

For the most part it will either remove the time limit, double it or extend it. It usually tells you what it does, and on quests where it does not extend it, it will tell you the timer is still in place. Thank you! I will make a hardsave and just skip a ton of time and see what happens. Appreciate the quick reply!

I'm having the same message. Other ones were always tight to some action/progress in quest so it was clear what it ties to. This one however is triggered every few weeks just saying "prolonged, finish the quest" but doesn't say which.

Good news it keeps doing that for the entire Flying Roger as there is a lot of "waiting".

My suspect is a Slave Trade as it started about month after "a month after the last quest". Or maybe Caleuche, was pausing it after the first encounter as I was in the middle of FTJR and din't wanted to deal with chasing ship (didn't know it chases only between short trips during some step and not the whole time)
