Long Way to the Gallows (Spoiler Warning)
In the title. After defeating the Albatross, I go to speak to the Portuguese man (Bart). The only options are to free him at the next port OR have him hanged at Curacao. Considering that the older game version of this quest has other options, have they been removed?

I'm pretty sure those were the only options before, what else was there?

He is also supposed to offer you a large hidden loot stash to set him free - in which case you continue the quest onwards. Also the "useless" companion you ditch near the end on Martinique is supposed to be permanent?

UPDATE - Problem solved. Turns out there's a moment in the quest where you have to either offer your prisoner a weapon or not in the Pirate town Tavern. If you don't, the quest is locked to 2 options only. If you GIVE him a weapon, you have the 3rd option. Apologies guys, sorted it now!

I have this problem myself. I did let him take the weapon from the dead guy though and he was fighting alongside me against Vasqueze's men. I'm now at the point where if I talk to him in my ship's hold, he doesn't give me the 3rd option. Any suggestions?
Nvm, it was because I fled from the ship Albatross. I went back to my previous save, boarded it, and now I have Bart's 3rd option :).

Don't take this quest after the main story like I did. Won't be no doctor to talk to lol.

What happened lol? Did you do Hero of the Nation before this quest?
