Direct Sail
so if im not totally wrong one the last updates in TEHO was direct sail that allowed us to go island to island without having to use global map freely crossing the map borders to another region but that feature was apperently not tested but you could toggle on/off...

and it worked well in my case...

and i see theres no Direct Sail in CL so i was thinking if wouldnt be possible to have direct sail in CL too? as a mod or something... having the option to toggle on/off first to avoid any fustrating situation that could happen (might be possible)

Yeah, no idea what happened. Direct Sail just didn't make it into CL for some reason.

It's here, but it has the same issue that I had with it in TEHO. That being that it doesn't recognize when you've crossed boundaries, so you have to drop into the world map briefly, but it'll be hit or miss on whether it puts you close to your actual location or puts you back at a boundary.

In one of the last updates in TEHO they changed it so you can sail directly between islands without having to exit to the Global Map, and that feature somehow didn't make it to CL.

That's just the game, not direct sail.

Should still be there via editing the .ini file.

It never worked properly for me. Are you sure there wasn't more to getting to work right?

No. Before direct sail was added, you wouldn't be able to even pass the boundaries. You would literally just stall out until you entered the map. It would look like you were still moving, but you weren't. And yes, I turned the option on in TEHO I could then actually sail to the islands, but had the issue I mentioned.

Do you have written instructions on how to do this?

I worked it out - It's in the "options" file:
cameramode.directsailmode=1

I also suggest enabling "run_in_background" and "sound_in_background" within engine.ini

I been testing this feature and can say it works, although not properly: You can use it in certain areas near coast lines, while you are in bound some islands at sight reach... other times when islands doesn't load properly while sailing you will be stuck. I wouldn't use it to travel to or from Jamaica since there are alot of small overlaping areas.... I would avoid using it in that masive ocean area south of jamaica as well. I recommend doing several mail missions in order to get familiarized with the working zones

I was buggy when I last used it, although it happened on rare occasions.
