In this quest when going to build the six long boats the quest ask for an assigned carpenter. I did not have a carpenter in my crew for I didn't need one because I am maxed in that skill so I went looking for one even used the f11 cheat menu to always spawn officers in the tavern to no avail the cheat only spawns in cannoneers boatswain and vanguards this was out of 50 reloads and retries.I even travailed around the entire map to every city trying all taverns again to no avail same story only cannoneers boatswain and vanguards thus even tho the quest has NO time limit Jean Picard becomes impatient with you leaves the party resulting in you failing the quest. PLEASE fix this or make the quest to where any officer with the secondary skill being the carpenter skill can be assigned to complete. I have 6 officers that are ether vanguard or doctor having the secondary skill being carpenter I assign and no avail . Please fix ...I do understand that this quest line is part of the old Sea Dogs TEHO missions however files can be changed easy enough and please stop doing this . Stop creating quest that need specific items or npc that the game does not or hardly provides I understand quest you will need things to complete but the game needs to somehow in some way provide those said items or npc . No one who works a job in RL has the time to load reload over and over for hours on in fighting to get the items needed just to complete a single quest . I do appreciate all the hard work and dedication. I have seen a ton of rework upgrades with graphic content etc very pleased with all of that .I even noticed that within the same quest line FTJR Hot Son Of Maracibo you added Fatay or fat bastard lol as part of the quest and with the proper amount of doubloons he will give you all the mats guns ammo etc needed to add to the chest to rescue Picard .AWESOME loved that .Again thank you for your hard work and dedication

this can be handled by any officer with at least 30 or 40 repair and one of the carpentry skills (i think advanced defense?). No need for dedicated carpenter from tavern. I passed this quest with that purser dude you get during long way to the gallows.

Thin the quest has changed or has a bad incrip or file did you not read what I wrote . It will not allow the quest to continue for me that's with trying with an officer that has carpenter as there SECONDARY having these skills .....Autonomous Repair,Basic Ship Defense,Combat Repair,Emergency Repair,Improved Ship Defense,Professional Ship Defense, and Professional Repair the only skill he does not have is full repair and that I'm guessing is the skill the quest really wants however there is no way to have that skill unless your main is Carpenter .I to have completed this quest meany times look at my game play time .Its the quest itself its broken. Plus also something needed to be said about the cheat menu any ways because of the simple fact when you use the spawn officers command it's not spawning carpenter's at ALL

untrue, I've reloaded my old save and my pursers that has only 3 carpenter skills was enough . Try reloading save game from before taking this quest, it sometimes work for me when the script is broken or some npc is not showing up

I also have screen shot of the officer I've tried using that has all those skills .I've tried it with him assigned and unassigned and no avail .

I'd say script misfired in your case. I'd reload save from before this quest if I were you.

Yea that's what i'm doing now Echoes I thank its a file issue so I have reloaded back to just after rescuing Picard and before talking to Trex .I will play through and see what happens if I get the same thing over I will send the file and screen shots .Its the only thing I know to do

Yea but crazzy tho . I mean to be honest it should be fixed I have all those skills maxed so there should be NO NEED for an officer that you half to pay every month when you don't need him/her in the first place but only for this one quest .Im going to go play through see what happens ya know the Indian did glitch out a bit when we entered the area by the shore line where the long boats are built .Has to be bad file or something I've completed this meany times before with no problems be back in like an hour or less to report YAY or NAY lol

Assign carpenter first, then talk to him in your ship will solve the problem
