Want a nonlinear game? Turn on Free Roam.
Want even more challenge? Turbo-Aggro-Elite-Potion BBQ.
malphage actually acts a bit unusual too, recovering from the first few breaks almost immediately
The other one i can think of is Vassago, not losing his attack down and some other strangeness involving underworld tyrant
katu going into desperation mode without clones earlier sounds like it gets easier but i'd disagree from experience (bbq + aggro bosses) due to her attacks always being harder and she spends a lot of time in long animations with damage reduction that can be quite hard to dodge some of the attacks
malphage? honestly is just kinda weird, wouldn't say necessarily easier either, yes she recovers from break instantly till the final health bar but all that mainly does is remove the platforms for most of her attack phases
Vassago is weird, yes, he gets the permanent attack down and woken fury/defense down is active the whole time alongside underworld tyrant, not exactly the hardest fight in the world though, sure underworld tyrant activating and clearing his health bars to a certain point almost certainly is unintended, but wouldn't say it also makes the fight easier either aside from vassago generally doing less damage (this fight kinda is on a timer anyway since you don't have to defeat the boss to win, just get to a certain point), the main issue i have with the fight is that underworld tyrant's description is wrong, it says its triggered by jumping but it works by increasing its stacks as you stay on the ground
Sure this also means Celia and Sable become unlocked super early into the Amaryllis/Cyril fights aswell, but thats because the game is trying to forward to the final phase, also doesn't really make them easier since it only really speeds up like the first couple health bars in those fights
can absolutely confirm this isn't how it works entirely, just did a refight on my expert save without leaving the ground at all, even from any of his attacks, no tornado slam, no upper slash, no backflip and the buff still ticks up, aggro shouldn't change that at all since all it does is effectively treat that boss as if its on its last phase
like it might scale mainly with landings but it'll still grow in stack count regardless
