Just finished the game and [SPOILERS]

This plot kinda sucks!
-The angels operate on continual genocide of their own undesirables, this is a plot point at a stage of the game and just gets swept under the rug and is never resolved
-Sabrina is terminally ill, this gets dropped even faster, with it again appearing only in passing at the end of the game, but is this resolved? Does she live? does she die? shrug.
-Sable is going to die, but is it mentioned whether he lives or dies in the epilogue? Nope! He's not even mentioned once! Presumably he does, I guess, and nobody thinks to remember him.
-What about the members of golden hand? Did they make it out? are they alive? idk because they also get dropped. This game has dementia.
-many boss battles start with everyone being an idiot for no reason, this works in something like rabi-ribi, but in a game that's trying to be serious, not so much
I'm sure I'll find more if I replay. It's funny that there's threads on how bad they think the art is, but nothing yet on how the story writing Just Sucks.

Btw since i finished the game without using the bell,

Is the bell just let you travel back to surface again if you use it before killing final boss?

They would REALLY have to do something to replace both sabel and celia as game mechanic.

Also i would love a Vena side adventure just to explore the story part that Tevi didn't have the chance to interact with like the mad doctor, the cat drill and more roleo.

All that needs to be said about the ending, is that it was more important to show that the waffle house has both waffles and customers, than it was to explain literally anything else about 99% of the other characters.

The story overall for me was ok, some characters could have used more foreshadowing
The ending was brutal though, the entire Sable family dies: Cyril suicided, both Sable and Sabrina was kept alive thanks to Tahlia magic (Cyril explained how Sabrina is still alive despite her condition before the boss fight) so het being defeated means both of them would die in moments. No definite solution for beastkin and human hatred so war is not off the table.

Anton already mentioned that Dahlia acted very fair and impartial towards beastkin, so with her being reinstated while working with the Peacekeepers could mean a bright future for both races.

this doesn't mean anything.

if I were to use a real world equivalent, that's like saying men and women have rights on paper. the reality is, men are stronger, have more muscle mass and overall better build. and to offset this there are far more women's programs than men's programs. then there's the very huge sentencing gap. I don't need to explain how its problematic for an older guy to be with a younger girl, but the reverse isn't so.

with that said, humans will have "more rights" than beastkin. beastkin will have far more "premium taxes" because they are stronger and taller. I can already see the discrimination from a mile away.

this is the sequel Tevi needs.

I know what they were trying to do with the story, but it really just came off as being needlessly cruel to the main 3 characters. Why invest in anyone when you're just going to kill them off for your "mature" themes?

To be fair, Rabi Ribi's story was just as meh, only difference was that Rabi's wasn't trying to be edgy while Tevi's story is just plain dark and honestly needs more of a conclusion. Found it kinda hilarious you got edgy angel literally killing off imperfect angels, but when you clear Memine her challanges she gets grounded

The story is not good, and I wished they at least gave the main cast a happy ending after spending so much effort in saving the world. Very disappointed in the plot honestly, I hope they can at least amend some of that in the future DLC

didnt Rabi Ribi get a whole lot of Updates for new content? i expect the same for this game. Arena Boss Rush Mode is already next on the line if you read the patchnotes

Rabi ribi was just fluffy and cute on the surface, it has lots of dark topics that are hidden under the bunny ears.

Hah, this game reminds me so much of Bayonetta 3 because the 3rd game also went for more of a serious plot. The gameplay is very tight and the game starts with interesting premises but quickly devolves into a mess of unexplained occurrences, painfully idiotic behavior from the main cast, and unresolved plot points with a miserable ending for the main cast.

The guy who worked on Bayonetta 3 was promising 6(?) games to tell the story he had in mind but guess what, he doesn't work there anymore now. Usually people promise epic multi-part games like that dont finish them from what I recall. Like Shenmue and Xenosaga. Definitely, horse before the cart behavior.

God of war is how you tell a multipart saga because you can play any of the games in any order and they are self contained epics that when combined tell an overarching narrative.

If they focused on 2 things, like the beastkin/human relationship and the twin queens, they could have been fine. And then, if sales permit, introduce new things as DLC. "Oh hey, all that magic you've been using in the base game? It's the source of decay so lets deal with that now."
