It's good. You can try the demo if it's still there if you are on the fence.

Also fully voiced story (in jp voice) is the icing on the cake.

I have not tried the demo, but do you know if the demo save file will carry over to the bought game?

I have not played the demo because I wanted to go into the main game "blind", but from what I heard the demo isn't just a chunk of the game, but it's own thing with some unique content? Strange as it seems I do intend to try it, but not until I have actually played the main release.

The demo is designed to bring players up to speed, which means altering story, level design, item acquisition. It effectively has its own self-contained "story" and gives out most of the major abilities pretty quickly.

Plus harder bosses and unlockable Expert difficulty upon beating the demo.

Yes, the demo is basically its own little game that takes 2-3 hours to finish and has its own plot.

Very good if you want to experience the mechanics and gameplay without really spoiling the story.

I only played the Demo for 10 minutes during the steam Event. Was already looking for the pre order button. Can't really find games like this. Bullet hell boss fights, metrovania exploration, odin sphere style combat.

The demo doesn't spoil any of the story correct?

The first half of the demo is a self-contained "storyline". The second covers part of the third chapter from the full game.

It's... Okay? Entirely too much handholding. Everything of value has a marker, and the only things you're going to find outside of that are minor stat increases or sigils. Compared to Rabi Ribi, which just let you out into the world after the intro, this is a HUGE step backwards. You're going to spend so much time talking about what you need to go do, talk once you get there, do the thing, and then talk about where you need to go next. There is no real reward for exploration, because all your exploration toolkit is story locked.

But, the combat itself is satisfying, at least on Expert. Bosses are fun, and a step up, especially the large size bosses. And the voice acting is well done, except I wish they had English voice acting too. I don't mind that the cutscenes aren't, because you can read what the characters are saying. But there's quite a lot of banter during boss fights and combat that you just don't get, and that's kinda sad.

All in all, I'd give this a 6/10. It's not terrible, but it's lacking something for a Metroidvania, and that's easy to tell.

People mention the demo, but sadly, the demo is actually better than the whole game. It's more organized and neatly compacted. You actually get to enjoy the good parts of a Metroidvania, without hours of talking to just get one thing.
