I haven't beaten the storyline yet, but I think you can keep playing after that part ends.
I think I know what you mean. I asked the question recently and that's how it was explained to me.
When the chapters are finished, then the endless begins, where all resources are available.
The chapter thing really irritated me too. I can't tell you more about it because I'm not getting it for the time being.
I have enough games like this and I'll play through them first.
sorry for my english .
Chapter
Hi
I'm still very undecided about whether I'll get the game, I have enough of this type, but it appeals to me.
What's the deal with the chapters, does that mean, chapter through, then that's it?
Or is it also an endless game?
I would just get the main game first, then the DLC's at some point.
Thanks

The story and how the regions of the world are unlocked is divided into chapters.
Once you're done with it, you'll be told that you can finally live your peaceful life and the endless game will start with access to all locations and resources. :D
It's like when you "finish" Stardew or any other "story" in a farming game. You can still play.
The DLC's better add at least 20+ hours each or they won't be worth it for me. The game cost to much as is, and I got the $40 version. I have no desire to go back until they get the bugs fixed. Of course Nintendo needs a license for patches to go out... I despise Nintendo now days. And I grew up on OG Nintendo console.
