But the real reason is likely the Dev's kind of have abandoned the game ... it's still a buggy mess... and their 'DLC' can be finished in 20-40 minutes for $8-$20 DLC's...
Stardew Valley even has this issue ... you kind of 'steal' them away from their normal routine and they hang out at your farm all day instead... it'd kind of weird.
One of the things Im looking at as a new player is whether or not to put in the time with dating npcs, didnt even know if it was possible until I saw this post. A note about Stardew Valley, a few years ago it was updated so that the marriage candidates still go into town and participate in their routine a little more. Its a good example of how I feel romancing should be handled in these games.
